Anthony pulled on the iron door, trying to pry it open. "And it's locked."
They could hear people talking in the hall. "Bring that one as well. There's more." The voices came muffled.
"Come on." Lockwood urged the two girls to hide.
Lucy picked up their gear bag and threw it at Anthony, hissing out a solemn word. "Shit."
The three of them were quick behind a pillar of brick, Lucy dropping down behind a barrel. Daniel crouched at Anthony's side, not wanting to be spotted over the containers she was next to.
"Put it there." One of the men ordered his supposed colleagues. "Shit. The hatch is unlocked."
Lockwood leaned over Daniel, looking around the brick. Lucy gasped softly, pulling her rapier in. There was thudding followed by coughs from one of the men. "Right, let's get the other one."
"Yeah, just- Give me a sec." The coughing man requested. Lucy looked over the chemical drum she was behind just as the door slammed and let out a sigh. "On the other side of that door, there's about thirty blokes who'll kill you." The coughing man spoke. Daniel couldn't help feel her skin crawl at the addressal of the three. "Three sets of footprints. And I caught a glimpse of a rapier back there. You've got three seconds to come out."
Anthony gave a small nod and the three of them rounded their hiding place.
"Jesus, you're children."
"We're agents. Working on behalf of DEPRAC. As I assume you are too."
"We're working behind DEPRAC's back but, y'know." Daniel huffed in contradiction to Anthony, rolling her eyes slightly.
"You're undercover? How many other agents are here?" Lucy asked the blonde scruffy looking man.
"None. Including you." He stepped forward, giving the trio a pointed look. "You're leaving. Now."
"We can help each other out. We're here to get the mirror too." Anthony explained, his voice soft.
"I'm here to infiltrate Winkman's organization. You're not messing that up."
"Understood, sir." Daniel put her hands up in surendor.
"You don't understand. This mirror is-" Lockwood started, only to get cut off.
"Listen to me. I have a wife and daughter I haven't seen for five months. This is my job. Do you have the first clue who these people are? What they do to their enemies?"
"What's in those drums?" Lucy questioned.
"You don't wanna know."
"And the padlock?"
"I don't have a key."
"We are not leaving without that mirror." Anthony stepped forward.
"Locks, this place isn't right." Daniel attempted, gently taking his sleeve in her hands. "I feel queasy. . ."
He ignored her.
"I'm a DEPRAC officer and I'm ordering you. Get out before you get us all killed." The agent demanded, taking Lockwood's shoulder to deliver his point. The brunet stumbled back with a hiss. "Straight out of here, there's a door to the dock. I'm gonna leave and walk right past it. Once the guards have moved, make a run for it and don't look back." The blond man walked to the door. "This is all I can do for you. If it goes wrong, you're on your own."
Lockwood shrugged his shoulder back into a comfortable position. He huffed, looking back at the two girls. "Okay."
"Okay." Lucy sighed out.
