Hey there, I'm Kai Beckham. Yep, that Beckham – David Beckham's kid. You know, the football legend. I'm twenty now, and let me tell you, for the past twenty years, it's been like living in a photo shoot. Paparazzi everywhere!

Don't get me wrong, fame is cool and all, but sometimes it's just too much. Especially since I'm like the paparazzi's favorite subject. Maybe it's because I'm trying to make it on my own, not just riding on my dad's coattails.

Out of my brothers, I'm the only one carrying on the Beckham legacy in soccer. My brother Romeo plays too, but he's not as serious about it.

While I take my football career seriously, following in my dad's footsteps for Manchester United and England, I earned my spot on the England team right after I turned eighteen.

Being hailed as the rising star of the football world, everyone's rooting for me. But I decided to shake things up a bit. I still wear the number 7 jersey like my dad, but instead of "Beckham" on the back, it's "Kai." It's my way of saying, "Hey, notice me for my skills, not just my famous parents."

I'm not a fan of the way some players are overly sexualized in the football world nowadays, including myself. Go on TikTok, and you'll find all sorts of edits of me, doing something in the game or just walking alongside my dad, turning up where you least expect it.

I mean, sure, I know I'm not bad looking, but some of the comments they make online about me? Creepy stuff, for real.

I've got slightly curly dark hair, a nice tan, brown eyes, and a decent physique. So, yeah, I guess you could say I'm good looking.

On the field, I'm pretty fierce. I like to argue, but deep down, I'm a total softie, especially when it comes to my mom.

Now, when it comes to my love life, that's a whole mess. I can never seem to settle down with anyone. Sure, there are plenty of girls interested, but I just don't see the good in any of them.

I'd much rather spend my life playing football than dealing with all that relationship drama. Trust me, I've tried, but I either end up with gold diggers or people who can't handle my lifestyle, dreams, or the media attention.

My mom's always on my case about it, telling me to get out there and find someone, but I keep putting it off.

I live solo in Manchester, though Romeo pops in sometimes, and my family visits occasionally – they're all stateside.

Got this big ol' house that's more space than I know what to do with, and a sweet collection of cars in the garage. Yeah, I'm into my wheels.

Been with Manchester United since I was a tot. Dad took me to their academy at six, and I haven't missed a practice since.

Sure, I've got some of Dad's football genes, but I've got my own moves too. I'm lightning fast and got a killer technique. But when it comes to passing and vision, that's all Dad's influence, no doubt about it.

October 2023.

"And the Kopa trophy winner this year is... Kai Beckham," the presenter announced, and the entire venue erupted into applause.

I rose from my seat, scanning the room. Mom was the first to envelope me in her arms, followed by Dad and then each of my siblings – Cruz, Romeo, Brooklyn, and not-so-little Harper anymore.

"Okay, Kai, keep it together," I muttered under my breath. "Just don't trip on your way to the stage – that would be a headline for sure."

As I stood up to accept the Kopa trophy, my palms sweaty and knees weak, I couldn't help but notice the curious stares from the audience. "Great, now I'm sweating like a goalie in penalty shootout," I thought to myself, trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach.

Clearing my throat, I addressed the crowd, my voice wavering slightly with nerves. "Um, wow. Thank you," I began, glancing around the room at the sea of faces. "I, uh, I really wasn't expecting this."

Turning to my family, I flashed them a nervous grin. "Mom, Dad, thanks for always being there to pick me up when I fall – both literally and figuratively," I quipped, earning a chuckle from the crowd.

Looking at my brothers, I couldn't resist teasing them about our friendly rivalry. "Cruz, Romeo, Brooklyn – you guys may think you're the real MVPs, but let's not forget who's the undisputed FIFA champion in this household," I joked, earning playful groans from my siblings.

Then, turning to my little sister, Harper, I couldn't help but tease her about her growing love for the game. "And Harper, my pint-sized partner in crime. I'm counting on you to carry on the Beckham legacy – no pressure or anything."

With a wink and a grin, I took a deep breath, feeling the tension ease as laughter filled the room. "To my amazing family – thanks for keeping me humble and always reminding me to have fun. I couldn't do this without you."

Finally, I turned to the crowd. "And to all the fans out there – thank you for your unwavering support. Your cheers and chants are what keep me going, even on the toughest days. This trophy is for you too."

As I raised the Kopa trophy high above my head, the room erupted into applause, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride wash over me. "Here's to chasing dreams, scoring goals, and making memories. Thank you all – I'll never forget this moment."
