I had a really busy week ahead. Today, I had my Arsenal stuff going on, like signing the contract and doing a few videos for the media.Tomorrow, we were moving into the house we looked at. It had been a few weeks, and everything should be done. Leah and I had picked out each piece of furniture together.
Then on Friday, it was my birthday—the big 21. But I wasn't planning on celebrating much. I was too lazy to think of anything, and I'd much rather chill with Leah than throw a big party.
"You seriously have to get up or you'll be late," Leah said, standing over me.
"Kiss me and I'm up," I replied, not even opening my eyes.
She leaned down and kissed me, then waited for me to move.
"Get up!"
"Oops, I lied," I said, turning my back to her.
Leah sighed dramatically. "You're impossible, you know that?"
I chuckled, finally opening my eyes and stretching. "Okay, okay. I'm up now."
"Good," she said, rolling her eyes. "You've got a big day ahead, Mr. Arsenal."
I got dressed quickly and grabbed a quick breakfast. Leah handed me my bag and gave me another kiss for good luck.
"Don't forget to smile for the cameras," she teased.
"Thanks, love. I'll see you later," I said, heading out the door.
The drive to the Arsenal training ground was filled with a mix of nerves and excitement. Signing the contract was a huge step in my career, and I was eager to get started.
At the club, everything went smoothly. I signed the contract, posed for photos, and recorded a few videos for social media. It felt surreal, but in the best way possible.
By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. Leah greeted me with a warm smile.
"How did it go?" she asked.
"Great," I said, wrapping my arms around her. "I'm officially an Arsenal player now."
"My favorite player just signed for Arsenal. God, I love this!" Leah said, giving me a kiss.
"Who's that?" I laughed, kissing her a few times. "Saka? Rice?"
"Oh, it's that Beckham lad, you know, the rubbish one," she teased, laughing.
I pulled her closer, grinning. "Rubbish, huh? Well, this rubbish player is going to make Arsenal great again."
She rolled her eyes playfully. "Sure, sure. Just make sure you keep scoring those goals."
"Will do," I said, kissing her again.
In the next few hours, Arsenal posted my signing on their social media, and it went wild. Fans were ecstatic, and even football legends were chiming in with excitement.
The presentation video was something else. It started with fans tweeting about Arsenal needing another attacking player to finally secure the title. Then, from the phone screen, it transitioned to none other than Thierry Henry, my godfather and an Arsenal legend, reading the tweets.
