A tall man sits down next to Y/N. She isn't bothered by it but decides to stay quiet as she wouldn't want to disturb him. To be fair, everyone is tense and on the brink of panic.

"Name's Roman, you?", the man introduces himself to the girl he sat down next to.

Y/N looks over at him, getting a good look at him. Blonde streaks in his light brown hair, fair skin apart from a few cuts scattered along his cheeks, brown eyes, sharp jawline and well built. She smiles and sticks out her hand for a handshake. "Y/N."

He shakes her hand and smiles back. "What brings you here Y/N?"

"The Germans."

He chuckles at the obvious answer before continuing the conversation once more. "You know what I mean."

"What you mean, as in, why is there a girl on a train full of men?"

"Bingo."

"I was filling in the position for a flight nurse before the pilot lost control of the plane. Went camping for a day in the woods and now I'm here", she responds, adding a sense of humour in her words.

Roman looks at her blood stained clothes, cuts, and bruised hands before raising his eyebrows. "Camping you say?"

"Yeah, apparently they don't like having an American in their yard. What about you?"

"Huh, weird. I didn't plan my parachuting right and landed right in the middle of the streets."

"I'm glad you didn't choose to be a navigator then."

He nods before looking around the train cart. "Do you know any of these guys?"

"No one from my camp."

"I guess we'll have to stick together then 'cause I don't know anyone either."

"Who says I can trust you?"

"Me."

"Wow, very reliable. Thank you, Rome", she smiles at the confident man beside her.

"Rome?"

"Hey, live with the nickname, or I'm leaving you when this train stops."

He bites down on his lower lip to try and suppress his smile and looks down at his hands, "I'll take it."

A German soldier who was blocking the door looks over at the pair. "Quit talking."

Roman furrows his eyebrows and looks at Y/N who is glaring at the soldier. "What did he say?"

"Quit talking."

"Hey, I mean it! Shut your mouths or you'll regret it!", he says with anger at his lack of control, walking up to the two.

Y/N stands up to meet him at eye level. "Go back to the door."

"What did you just say to me?", he half yells, getting in her face, capturing the attention from the rest of the pilots in the train.

"What are you gonna do? Hit me?"

He pushes her shoulders making her stumble backwards a bit.

"You're pathetic", She spits back at his move to scare her.

That angers him, but before he can come at her, Roman stands up, blocking her field of view. He easily towers over the soldier making him feel intimidated. He stares him down before the soldier rolls his eyes and heads back to his station.

The duo sits back in their spots and Roman stares at the girl next to him.

"What?", she asks, noticing him staring and looks him in the eyes.

"You can speak German?"

"Sucks that you can't."

"Well, no. If I did I'd be arguing with everyone here."

Y/N sucks air through her teeth making a disappointed noise. "Skill issue."

"Hey!"

"The truth hurts man, get used to it."

"I like you."

"I like me too."

"Friends?"

Y/N smiles at him before nodding her head. "Friends."
