Authors note: Sorry that almost all the chapters have a party at the bar, but I do enjoy writing them, so, just let me know if it's too much. There will be a change in scenarios and background later in the story. Also, thank you for all the support on my book! I really do appreciate it especially when I know you guys are enjoying this story. Like always, don't be afraid to leave and chapter suggestions or writing tips.
Y/N, Bucky and Buck were all hanging out at Glenn Dye's 25th mission party. Live music, a bar, women, and men in uniform celebrating the near impossible victory of the bomber pilots. Y/N, dressed in one of her favourite dresses, enjoying the time she's able to be out of her uniform. (Choose you own dress) She was sipping on a small glass of whiskey, listening in on the conversation of her closest friends. She looks around the room, watching the others having a blast. Herr eyes land on an unfamiliar group of boys. Four to be exact. Must be the new crew, she thought to herself before interrupting the best friend's banter.
"Check out the newbies", she says motioning to the group of boys with her glass in hand.
They both look over.
"I guess it's only polite to go introduce ourselves", Bucky says.
"Don't embarrass them this time."
"When have I ever?"
"Don't ask a question you already know the answer to", Buck backs her up to which she smiles in victory.
Bucky puts an arm behind his back and puts his other hand in front of him, "M'lady."
She takes his hand and smiles, "Major."
The three of them walk over to the group of men, though the clicking of Y/N's heels caught their attention as they all stopped talking and averted their gaze in her direction.
"Fellas", Bucky greets.
"Gentlemen", Buck greets right after.
"Major Egan", one of them say back.
"Major Cleven", another follows.
"Rosenthal, Nash", Bucky points to two of them.
"That's right", Nash replies.
"Copilots, uh, Spatz, and Lewis?", Buck tries.
"Speas, sir", Nash corrects him.
"Speas", Buck repeats ensuring he gets it right next time.
"Lewis, sir. But people call me Pappy", he chuckles.
"You boys, you were pilots before the war?", Bucky asks.
"Lawyer, sir", Rosenthal answers.
"Lawyer?", Bucky says quite impressed.
"I practiced uh-"
"Where'd you learn to fly a B-17?", Buck cuts him off.
"Laredo. Nine months, 12 hours a day. Gunnery training", he responds. "Lieutenant Nash too."
