Cindy's Point of View
"I have stayed home for two weeks! I am fully healed! How much more time do I need?"
"Honey," Mom said sadly, "We just want to make sure your okay."
She placed a hand on my shoulder, allowing me to lean into her side.
"I know," I sighed, "But can I please go to school today? I have missed so many assignments and tests! I can't imagine how far my grade went down."
I gave her the puppy dog look and she crumbled.
"Fine," She smiled, "Go to school. But call me or your father if you want to come home."
I squealed girlishly, hugging my mom quickly before skipping up to my room to get ready.
Normal teenagers wouldn't get excited over going to school. But I have been stuck inside this house for nearly three weeks, I needed to get out. And I am a nerd, I have to be worried about my grades.
I quickly slipped on a pair of short denim shorts and a white t-shirt before grabbing my school bag and flying down the stairs.
I slipped on my gladiator sandals at the door and grabbed the keys to my truck.
"Bye parents!" I called over my shoulder, "I shall call every hour to assure you that I am fine!"
I didn't wait for their reply before I was out of the door and headed to my truck.
"My baby!" I cried dramatically, hugging the side of my truck, "Oh how I've missed you!"
I heard a deep chuckle behind me and I tensed.
Steer clear of the male species, Cindy.
I slowly turned around, only to stop short when I spotted the hunk of god standing in front of me.
His hair was a dark brown. He was tan and muscular. His muscles bulged beneath his t-shirt, but weren't over the top bulging. They were a nice size. His tan was deep, possibly deeper than mine. And that is saying a lot, considering I am the Sun Goddess and the queen of tans. His features were well defined, reminding me of a super model.
And his eyes. Gosh, his eyes. They were suck a deep chocolate brown. I could drown myself in them if I wanted to. I could get lost in them. And I honestly wouldn't mind.
He cleared his throat, offering his hand.
"I'm Pierce," He smiled at me, "You must be Cindy? I'm working with your dad while he tries to gain leadership of my pack."
I stood there, staring dumbly at his hand.
Steer clear of the male species.
I looked up at him, taking a step back as I smiled uneasily at him.
"I, uh," I stated dumbly, "I gotta go so, um, bye!"
I climbed in my truck, swiftly starting it and backing out of the driveway.
I sighed gratefully as I stared in the rearview mirror at his shrinking figure.
What the hell was that?
*
I stepped up behind her as she spoke obsessively into her phone. She had yet to notice my presence.
"-o I'm like 'Yeah, duh.' And she calls me a dumb ass. I mean, who the fuck does that? And then Xavier stands there looking like a retarded idiot. What type of boyfriend is he that doesn't defend me? Me of all people? Marie Sinclair of the Royal family. Does he not know who I am or something? I thou-Oh!"
Marie dropped her phone as she slammed her locker and spun around, coming face-to-face with me.
"Cindy!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms around me-her phone long forgotten.
I laughed, hugging her back tightly.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as she pulled back, staring at me curiously, "I thought your parents had you on lock down."
"I finally got them to let me out of the house," I said as I stared down the empty corridor, "I could've came later. Wanna go to starbucks?"
She nodded eagerly, her eyes lighting up at the mention of coffee.
"Let's go!" She threaded her arm through mine and began pulling me down the empty hall.
"Why are you here an hour before school starts?" I asked as we stepped out of the school.
"Swim pratice," She shrugged, "Damn coach says we need to be at practice at four thirty in the fucking morning. I swear, sometimes I want to wring her neck because she is so damn annoying!"
I laughed as Marie and I climbed into her truck.
"Language," I said sternly, "Or I tell Grandma Rose!"
She kept quiet at the mention of me telling her mom, but knowing I wouldn't actually do it.
She started the truck and we took off down the street.
"So," I began, "This guy showed up this morning. He said his name was Pierce. But he was like, super hot."
"Pierce?" Marie frowned, eyes on the road, "Pierce Jackson? The Alpha of the deadliest pack in the country?"
"Marie," I laughed, "I didn't sit and have tea with him while we chatted about our roles in the werewolf community. I just got in my truck and drove away."
She pouted, glancing at me.
"If that was him and you ran away from the hottest man on earth," She began seriously, "I will seriously tie you to the tallest building in Princeton."
Princeton was the name of our small town, which wasn't actually very small considering it was the heart of the werewolf community.
I kept quiet, not wanting to challenge her on her threat.
If anyone knew Marie, they'd know she never bluffed on her threats.
