Love Sick

I woke up the next day, happier than ever. Pierce's chest was pressed to my back as I was turned away from him, his heavy breathing telling me he was awake, as it was slightly uneven.

I smiled as I felt my hands in his, feeling content and warm in his arms.

He kissed the skin on my neck, below my ear where he had marked me. "Good morning, beautiful."

I felt myself blush as I turned my head to look at him. I smiled at him when I saw his messy hair and smiling face. "Good morning, handsome."

He chuckled, kissing me softly on my lips. "How did you sleep last night?"

"Excellent." I responded. "And you?"

"Excellent." He said with a smile before he kissed me again and climbed out of bed, pulling on a pair of sweat pants.

"Where are you going?" I pouted at him, propping myself on my elbows as he came around to my side of the bed.

"We are going to eat something." He responded, leaning down in order to peck me on my lips.

"I don't want to move." I groaned, turning over so that I was laying on my stomach. I put a pillow over my head. "It's too early. Come back to bed."

I heard Pierce laugh. "It's nearly ten o'clock, Cindy."

"Exactly." My voice came out muffled due to the pillow I had held to my head.

I heard Pierce sigh before his hands were above my waist, where the sheet was covering my stomach.

I realized what he was intending to do just before his fingers began moving.

I gasped as giggles began leaving my mouth. I soon found myself on my back as he pinned me to the bed, still tickling me. I had to be grateful the sheet was covering my body, or else I'd of been as red as a tomato.

His hands came to a rest on my waist as I began gasping for air between my laughs, and he stared at me seriously. "Are you going to get up?"

His face hovered millimeters from mine, his lips just barely brushing against my own as his woodsy scent filled my nose.

I nodded at him, resulting in him kissing me softly again.

I climbed out of bed, pulling on a pair of underwear, jeans, my bra, and a tank top. I felt Pierce's eyes on me the whole time, which made me a little nervous, but that feeling quickly disappeared as I felt his hands on my waist, pulling me into his chest.

His lips pressed to the area below my ear, and I couldn't help but moan as my knees went weak at the action.

Pierce chuckled as he pulled away from me, grabbing my hand as he led me out of the room and down the stairs towards the kitchen.

"Where is Susie?" I asked Pierce, worried for the sake of my daughter.

"With my sister." Pierce smiled. "They love each other."

"Everyone loves Susie," I responded as we walked into the kitchen, "Shes a baby. Everyone loves children."

"That may be so." Pierce said with a chuckle. "But I think Naomi loves her more than she should. She's attached to her like a sister."

I smiled as I sat down at the kitchen table, feeling giddy, although a part of me was nervous for some odd reason.

It didn't take long to realize why I was nervous.

Pierce sat down in front of me, looking nervous. He grabbed my hands across the table, absentmindedly curling his fingers through my own.

"What's wrong?" I asked with a frown as I stared at Pierce, my own fingers fiddling with his as my nerves were increasing.

Pierce sighed. "You know I love you, right Cindy?"

I frowned my head, but nodded at him.

"You know I would always put my life before yours and Susie's life, right?"

"What are you getting at?" I narrowed my eyes at him before I felt fear run through my body. "She isn't hurt, is she?"

Pierce chuckled and quickly denied my words as I went to stand up, intent on seeing if my daughter was alright.

"No." Pierce let out a sigh through his nose. "My question is, will you marry me, Cindy?"

I had only stared at him for a good five minutes before his words processed in my mind and I almost flew across the table, kissing his lips softly as I said 'Yes' continuously.

He had laughed and slid a ring on my finger, one of which I barely looked at before I was kissing him again, feeling happy.

Pierce wanted to marry me soon, meaning within the next few months, also meaning that the week was filled with wedding plans.

It was safe to say I was sick with love for that man.

That Friday Pierce had taken me out to a nice restaurant for a date and I had left Susie at home with Derrick, trusting him with my daughter.

It wouldn't be until I walked in the door that night when my whole world had crumbled before my eyes.
