Derrick looked away at my tone and I felt bad a little, but I still didn't want my daughters beside him.
Derrick's mate pouted as Susie was sat beside Lilly, who sat beside Pierce.
I smiled despite the situation.
I felt Pierce take my hand into his and run his thumb over the back of it softly, calming my nerves some.
"Can we start now?" I asked hesitantly, but my mom shook her head, avoiding my gaze.
"We have another guest. We've been helping him deal with something since you left." Dad cut in, holding mom's hand lightly in his.
I smile at the two of them. But then I remembered that we had another guest arriving soon enough.
I looked up just as someone entered, watching as they went tense at the same moment that I felt my nerves go over the edge.
He gave me a shaky smile after a few seconds and looked as if he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. I sent him a shaky smile in return and watched as he sat next to Derrick.
"I should probably leave now." I said, feeling every bone in my body shake as I jumped out of my seat. "Please don't follow."
Everyone nodded and Pierce seemed as if he wanted to argue, but probably knew better. He also looked completely and utterly confused before I fled the room.
I leaned against the patio door after stepping outside, feeling the coolness of the summer air hit my cheeks as I did so.
It had rained the night before, meaning it was wet outside still, making everything look beautiful and enhanced as water droplets gleaned along the surface.
I felt my muscles relax as the morning sunlight encased my body, making my body warm and goosebumps to rise on my skin.
I walked over to the pool, sitting down and dropping my feet into the cold water. I started kicking my feet, feeling sick to my stomach as his face flashed through my mind continuously.
As I felt bile rise up my throat, I held it down and slid into the pool, needing something to distract me.
I can't believe he's here.
I shut my eyes tightly under the water and held my breath as my wolf and witch began speaking back and forth.
I feel like sending him through a wall and throwing pancakes at him.
I laughed to myself at my witch's words, feeling the water around me leave as I emerged from the water.
"Susie would probably guilt you into making twice as many as you threw." I said with a smile.
You mean you. She doesn't know we exist yet because of that carp you say about her being a normal kid for a few years, was the response I retrieved from my wolf and I wondered why my Goddess wasn't in the conversation.
"That plan kind of went out the door when Pierce found me." I stared down into the clear water as I swam, keeping my head above the water in the process.
You know you wanted him to find you. It was only a matter of time until you ran back into his arms.
I rolled my eyes and changed the subject away from my witch's words. "Why do you think Tyler is here? What is my mom helping him with?"
No clue. Was the answer I received from both my wolf and witch.
I sighed and leaned my head back into the water. "I want to run away again, but I know I can't. I just didn't expect to see him ever again."
