Cindy's Point of View
"Why did you come back?" I asked in a low voice as I sat down beside Pierce on the couch after putting the girls to bed for the night.
"I didn't leave." He responded with a small smile. "I wouldn't be able to actually take them away from you even if I wanted to. Susie loves you and I figure you are the favorite parent."
I laughed and shook my head, ignoring the burn in my throat as I did so. "If anything, you are her favorite. Your name was the first word she spoke. The first sentence she said was 'I want Daddy.'"
Pierce chuckled. "She's pretty smart to just be a year and a half old."
I smiled as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his side.
"It scared me when she started walking. She was playing with her toys when she just got up and walked to me." I sighed. "I get the feeling Lilly is the complete opposite."
I leaned my head on his chest, feeling content now that he wasn't looking at me with so much hatred, but he looked at me with so much love and adoration.
We were sat in the living area of my apartment, the girls sound asleep in their bedroom. I knew they were out of it the moment their heads hit the pillow. They'd had a long day and Susie had gone without her nap.
"I missed you." Pierce said, causing me to look up at him.
"I missed you too." I responded. "Beyond what my words can express."
He chuckled and leaned down, kissing me softly on the lips.
"It's amazing how you can go from hating me to kissing me in a matter of six hours." I said as he pulled back slightly, but my lips still brushed against his.
"I could never hate you. I may of tried to hate you for you leaving, but I couldn't do it." Pierce responded, kissing me deeply and resulting in a moan from me. He smirked against my lips as he pulled me so that I was straddling him, my hands pressed firmly to his chest. "I love you too much to ever hate you."
"I love you too." I responded before pressing my lips firmly to his again, letting out a groan as his large hands went beneath my turtle neck, barely brushing against my skin as one of his hands ran over my rib cage, the other wrapping around my torso as he pulled my body closer to his, his lips moving passionately against my own.
I thought he was going to hurt me when he applied pressure to my rib cage, but the pain almost instantly disappeared as he broke his lips away from my own, his lips trailing down my jaw and to my neck, where he kissed my bruised skin softly.
"How did you do that?" I asked, my voice coming out normal and not hoarse as he continued to kiss my neck, pulling a few moans from me.
"True loves touch." Pierce said with a wide smile as he pulled back to look at me.
I laughed and leaned my head into the crook of his neck, feeling drained. "Pierce?"
"Yeah, Cindy?" He asked softly, his voice showing his love towards me.
"How long is it going to be until you try to take me back to my family?" I asked, biting my lip.
"I think you've settled in quite nicely here." He said, a smile in his tone as I closed my eyes. "Would you let me stay with you?"
I sighed and inhaled his scent, only to realize I wasn't exactly who I used to be, my wolf had almost completely left me. I couldn't smell his delicious scent anymore.
"Of course." I responded as I closed my eyes. "But you have to split the bills fifty fifty. I've been barely getting by with the two girls by working at the diner."
