Wall of TVs
Okay, what the hell did he send me on? This just keeps getting weird. I turned down an alley and now I don't know where I am. There were TVs on either side of me. Some of them were off. Some of them are giving off a fuzzy image. Some give off a clear picture. I tried to tune out the static. I looked left and right. The bamboo forest around these walls of old TVs didn't help.
"Yukio? What the fuck is this?" I asked. I didn't hear a thing.
"Yukio? Yukio?" I asked. Nothing. It was like he went dark in my head. I don't like this. I looked around again. Nope. No. I started to turn around but faint whispering caught my ear. Oh no, I'm not falling for that one!
"Nice try, asshole! I'm not falling for that one! I've got shit to do." I turned and walked down the path. The faster I get this done, the faster I can get away from the creepy shit.
The buzzing was starting to get to my ears. I flinched and gritted my teeth. I rubbed on my right ear. I shut my eyes and images began to fill my head. They all came in flashes that only lasted about a second. I tried to see what something was trying to show me. Before I knew it, my hand reached out for a fragment. At first, my fingers went through the glass. I didn't stop reaching.
What am I doing?
It was like my hand had a mind of its own. What the hell? Stop it! Stop doing that! My hand grabbed onto something that felt like cold glass. It felt like a large jolt ran through my body. I felt myself going stiff. Rapid images ran around in my head. The buzzing made my eyes and nose bleed. Through the red, I could make out a clearer picture.
There was a woman standing up ahead of me. I could only see her back but I knew who this was. I wanted to back away from her but something wouldn't let me. There was no way I was going over to her. No way! No! Nope! No!
My feet started moving toward her. I tried to turn back but my body faced forward and kept walking. The buzzing grew louder in my ears. I could feel my skin crawling. Through the buzzing I could hear... I narrowed my eyes. Is that... singing?
My eyes stayed fixed on her back. The voice sounded like it was coming from her but so far away. Not once did this woman ever turn around. I got closer and closer. No matter how much closer I got, her voice never got louder. I don't think I have been this scared since I was in Chou Mori. (If you tell anyone about this, I will kill you!) Something inside of me would not let me go further with this shit. I shut my eyes and tried to force myself to stop.
You can't walk away now.
I yanked my eyes open when I heard her laughing. Suddenly, I was standing in from of a deep red door. What the hell was all of that? I turned around to see the walls of TVs behind me. They were still making that buzzing noise. There was nothing along the dirt trail. I could only see my footprints on the ground.
Yamato? Yamato? Are you still with me? Say something. Yamato? Yamato?
"What?" I asked.
Oh good. You're still here.
I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. "What the fuck, man?! What the hell did you send me on?!"
You saw her too?
"What?"
Are you at the house now?
"Yes. Why am I here?"
Ring the bell and open the door. It should be inside.
I frowned and rolled my eyes. By now, I stopped caring. I just wanted this nightmarish headache to be over.
"Whatever." I reached up and knocked on the door. I rang the bell for extra measure. I stepped back when the door creaked open. Well okay. I can finally get this over with and go home.
This better be worth my time. I ignored the buzzing as I walked inside.
