The next morning, Isabella's mom dropped Isabella, Gabriella, and Troy off at the country club for their next shift. Isabella and Troy held hands as the three of them walked into the kitchen where most of the others had already started their shifts.
"Good morning, everybody." Troy called out as the couple and Gabriella walked into the kitchen.
"Good morning." Isabella and Gabriella smiled at their friends who greeted the three of them back with large smiles.
"Smells good. That smells good." Troy said as he pointed to Martha as they walked past where she was cooking. They walked over to the time clock, where Gabriella swiped her card first before she walked away to get changed into her uniform. The couple went next before pausing when they heard piano music coming from the restaurant. The couple shared a look before Isabella grabbed Troy's hand and pulled him into the restaurant where they saw Kelsi rehearsing a new song.
"Sounding good, Kels." Isabella grinned as she and Troy walked over to the piano that Kelsi was sitting at.
"Thanks. Actually, I need to go get ready for the ladies' luncheon. Won't exactly be rocking out." Kelsi pouted, causing the couple to laugh as they smiled at Kelsi who gasped as she turned to look at them. "You know, I am so excited about the club's talent show. I mean, the employees get to do a number, and I have ideas for everyone. You guys can sing the lead, and maybe Zeke and Chad can do backup, and everyone can dance."
"Big timeout on that one." Troy quickly cut off Kelsi's rambling as he and Isabella shared a nervous look before they turned back to Kelsi. "My singing career began and ended with the East High Winter Musical. I'm just here to make a cheque and sneak in the pool after work. That's... That's really it."
"Oh." Kelsi frowned sadly as Troy walked over to the other end of the piano and leaned his elbow against it with his back facing the two girls.
"What was that you were playing a minute ago?" Isabella asked curiously, but also wanting to change the topic.
"Oh, it's... It's nothing." Kelsi quickly brushed off as she started to gather the sheet music from the piano. "It's just nothing.
"What's this?" Isabella asked gently as she picked up one of the music sheets and started to read the lyrics that Kelsi came up with.
"Well, I was thinking if you'd do the show, that I wanted to be ready, and I wrote this for you guys." Kelsi explained hesitantly as Isabella watched her with a soft smile.
"Come on." Isabella encouraged Kelsi as she placed the sheet music onto the piano again and she gently nudged Kelsi's shoulder. "Go."
