(Holly’s P.O.V)

Monday came soon enough. I was dressed casually ready for my first day of work.

"Bye mum." I said to my mum.

"Bye Honey, good luck!" she called out as I left. It was a nice warm day, perfect, I thought walking down the path to the bus stop.

I arrived at 7:45, 15 minutes early. So I knocked on the door.

"Come in!" someone called from behind the counter. Liam stood up from kneeling behind the counter, he had a book in one hand and a pen in the other. He placed them on the counter.

"Hi Holly, you’re early." He said then bent down again

"Yeah, well I didn’t want to be late. Do you need any help?" I asked whilst walking around the counter to see him rummaging through a cupboard, obviously trying to find something.

"No, that’s ok. I’m just trying to find something." He told me without looking up.

"What are you looking for?" I asked curious.

"Oh nothing just a book my neighbour asked for." He said getting up and closing the cupboard door. "Anyway, now that you’re here I could do with some help with unloading some new books?" he asked me.

"Sure." I said and he led me through to a back storage room. He handed quite a small box to me and picked up a bigger one himself. Then we went back through into the store.

"Right, all the shelves are alphabetical so A starts over there," he pointed to one end of the store "and Z is all the way over there." He pointed to the other end "If you need any help or you can’t find where a book goes then just let me know, okay?"

"Yep." I said and opened the box. ‘Evermore’ was the title of the first book, I’d read that one. "E….e….where’s e?" I mumbled to myself.

       About 15 minutes later,

"That’s it for now, I’d better open the store. Today I’ll be here to show you how everything works, but tomorrow you’ll be on your own, except at 2 Tina will come in and give you a hand, is that ok?" he asked, I couldn’t believe he was going to let me manage the store on my own tomorrow.

"Yeah, sounds great." I smiled as he switched the sign over to open. Nothing could ruin the day. Or so I thought.
