Chapter 10 - Hangout Brawl (Part 1)

Y/N: "So. . . Where are we going?"

Y/N says to Shido, Kurumi in tow. Y/N is wearing a black hoodie, blue shorts, and black boots that look cute alongside a cute little headband. Beside Y/N is Kurumi, wearing a red and yellow dress with frills, her hair tied in a ponytail, and regular red shoes.

Shido: "We're going to the arcade."

Y/N: "Oooooh!!! An arcade~ I like arcades they used to call me the 'Monster Masher'! due to my constant and unnatural way, I mash buttons to win!"

Kurumi(Lightbearer): "Wow! so cool!"

Kotori: [Lame title. . .]

Shido: [I don't know Kotori, I think it's pretty cool. . .]

Kotori: [I've seen better titles in checkers tournaments.]

Shido: "Look we're here."

Shido stops to look at the building in front of us. countless flashing colorful lights and overlapping sounds of arcade machines dominate the inside. The smell of popcorn and food blows through the building.

Y/N: "Oh wow! It smells amazing!"

Y/N, Kurumi, and Shido head inside to start their hang-out session. Y/N immediately goes to one of the fighting games, and Kurumi follows suit. Shido smiles as he approaches the opposite side of the Fighting game machine.

Fraxinus POV:

Kotori sits comfortably in her commander chair, surrounded by screens showing different stats and data. Reine stands beside her as she views the main screen within the Fraxinus showing the stats and Emotions of The Traveler. Tohka, Yoshino, and Yoshinon are present as well.

Tohka: "Y/N looks pretty excited."

Kotori: "She does, does she. . ."

Yoshinon: "Ooooh she looks like a child in a candy store~ Hikarimochi-kun seems so smitten with Y/N-san! ~"

Reine: ". . ."

Reine stares at Y/N's emotions, the meter is constantly in flux, but the only constant is the emotion of fear. It's 87%. . . It's extremely high for any normal circumstances. Reine thinks back to earlier in the day.

Why is she afraid when Shido asks her out on a date? Is she fearful of dating? What caused that?

Kotori: "Something on your mind Reine-san?"

Reine: "Something came up about Ms. Gardener."

Reine: "Ms. Gardener's fear emotion is currently at 87%, too high for an occasion like this. . ."

Kotori looks at the main screen, she sees the fear emotion dangerously close to fight or flight.

Kotori: "Hmm. . . Why is that?"

Suddenly a beeping noise rings out, and one of the crew members identifies that a foreign energy source is rapidly approaching Shido's position.

Crew member (1): "Commander Itsuka, The Fraxinus has detected a foreign dense energy source rapidly approaching Target's position!"

Kotori: "What?!"

Kotori: "Show me the data!!"

On the main screen, a map showing Shido's position is indicated by a blue dot but quickly is closed in by a red dot.
