Period 9: 1980-Present

The US was still in a period of stagflation however they were saved by Reagan Reganenomics.

It was Regan's second term and Elliot was walking through the streets of a southern Virginia city and wearing much different clothes than he used to go wear back in the days. There was absolutely no segregation and the city was bustling like how it should be since the Cold War was coming to an end.

He saw papers about how the Regan Administration secretly sold weapons to Iran and converted it to contras (Iran-Inta-Contra Affair) though he could care less about any of that.

He got a letter in the mail about the Iraq under Suddam Hussein invading Kuwait (Gulf War) he knew the US was only helping for their oil supply. He was offered to join because of all the wars he's won and lived through but he refused since he only lived because of the many fine Francis saved him and he couldn't bare to fight war without his best friend by his aide.
In 6weeks the war was over, "a splendid little war." as some may call it.

During the Bill Clinton presidency his presidency was overshadowed by the Lewinsky Affair.

The 2000 election was between George W Bush and Al gore. Bush won. Elliot was downstairs and Henry and his sister had gone to NYC for some important things and he decided to wanted to stay home because he was sick of traveling after all he's done in these years. He originally wanted to go see mercy but he couldn't bare to be the only one there without Francis.

On September 11th 2001 mercy was on NYC and actually meet up with Annes before her and her father headed off to the World Trade Center. Osama bin landab and Al Quada attacked the World Trade Center flying two haikajacked planes into them the two towers crumbled making it the deadliest attack on American soil.

Back in Virginia Elliot was on his phone before the TV switched to the crumbling of the World Trade Center. He dropped his phone and just stared at the TV since he already knew they were gone. This officially started the Global War on Terrorism. He couldn't bring himself to react much right now just watched the TV at the towers and the attack as a single tear fell down his face. If he could he would switch places with his sister immediately. All these people in his life wanted to live, his father, his mother, Anne, Henry, and Francis desired life and he didn't yet they all died and now he alone remains alive.

In 2007-2009 the worst global economic recession since the 1930's Great Depression happened. The was fixed once Obama the first African American authorized the economy stinks package and took a similar approach on terrorism. He also created Obamacare.

After Elliot lost everywhere he wet to Francis' house where he was always welcome. His parents had left Virginia after their son died and moved down to Florida but left the house and gave Elliot the key if he ever wanted to go in there. He pulled a box out of under Francis' bed and pulled out the gun that Francis' used in every war he fought.
In the box was a picture from them from back in the day. It was black and white and another photo of them at an Elvis Presley Concert. He couldn't help but cry a bit knowing he is completely alone now.
He loaded the gun and rose it to his head as he stood up. For some reason he struggled to go through with it. He leaned back against the wall and fell to his knees and said, "I tried—I really did. But what else can a man do with all the things the history throws at him? And I know you told me to keep living but I—I'm sorry I can't." He placed his finger over the finger and shut his eyes letting his final tears fall. He laughed to himself despite his crying and said, "History really had it cut out for me."
