“Jeon... Yoongi?” She had a blank look for a few seconds, obviously not reacting to what the name meant.

The atmosphere was quiet for a few moments before Lisa finally slowly came back to her senses and carefully asked, “You’re Jungkook’s brother?”

 Jungkook: “Mm.”

Lisa pursed her lips uneasily, wondering if she had said the wrong thing—

Even though she had little contact with the outside world and was closed off, she would often hear Yang Yilan talk about how their Tang family was currying favor and trying to climb onto the high branches of this Jeon family.

What left the deepest impression on her was that the Jeon family also had two sons. The youngest son, Jungkook, was a typical prideful son of an influential family and had plenty of people chasing him, needless to say; the eldest son, Jeon Yoongi, was born from the former matriarch of the Jeon family who had passed away. His situation in the family seemed no better than hers, the illegitimate daughter of the Tang family.

Yang Yilan also lamented, “The youngest master of the Jeon family has a cold personality, the kind of master where no one and no thing can enter his eyes. Since the brothers are at odds, I’m afraid that the eldest young master is living a miserable life in the Jeon family.”

Because of her own experience, when Lisa first heard Yang Yilan mention it, she felt some empathy for the eldest young master of the Jeon family who was rumored to have had a miserable life.

Thinking that she had just taken the liberty of misidentifying him as his “sworn-rival” brother, Lisa squeezed her fingers awkwardly.

“I’m sorry, I just... carelessly guessed.”

 “......”

The girl’s distressed emotions were clear from her words. Jungkook’s mind was at the top of its class, and his thoughts turned, trying to guess Lisa’s train of thought at this time.

The corners of his mouth silently ticked down and his smile lazily fell. When he spoke again, the teenager’s voice still sounded light and cold, “You’ve heard of me?”

 Lisa hesitated, “Mm.”

 “Heard from who, your sister?”

Lisa shook her head, “Granny at home mentioned it.”

 “What did she mention?”

 “......”

Lisa nestled on the sofa as she stayed silent. Jungkook simply sat on the carpet by her feet. He leaned back against the cloud jade coffee table, propped up one knee, and rested his arm on his knee.

Then Jungkook lazily tilted his head and his eyes lifted up to fall on the girl.

The little girl’s expression looked a bit torn. Obviously, it was something that was not fit to be said in front of “Yoongi’s” face, but lying wasn’t something she was used to doing.

After looking at her for a few seconds, Jungkook dropped his eyes and silently hooked the corners of his mouth, “Forget it if it’s not convenient to say.”

 “Okay,” the girl really agreed.

Jungkook: “How come you didn’t go to the main building with your older sister just now?”

Lisa was silent for a few seconds and spoke honestly: “This is also not convenient to say.”

Jungkook’s eyes shifted, “Your relationship with your sister isn’t very good, either?” Intentionally or unintentionally, the word “either” was bit out by Jungkook somewhat deeply.

Lisa was hesitant and heard the other person say, “My relationship with my brother isn’t good, you should’ve heard someone mention it.”

Lisa was silent for a few seconds, sympathizing with the voice that sounded a bit despondent: “Jungkook, he, does he bully you?”

 “......”

 Jungkook lightly narrowed his eyes.

A few seconds later, he lazily uttered an ‘en’ sound: “He’s been bullying me since I was little. Everyone in the family favors him. After he grew up, he had the old master cut off my financial resources and kicked me out of the house.”

Lisa listened, stunned for a few seconds before reacting, “Then, then Grandpa Jeon just agreed?”

“The old master is the most partial, of course, he agreed.”

Lisa slowly lowered her head, her expression a bit sad, “Sure enough, it’s like that.”

Jungkook kept looking at her, “Sure enough what?”

“Nothing, it’s just that my grandmother is also... somewhat biased towards my older sister,” Lisa lowered her voice. “That’s why my sister is engaged to Jungkook, not to you.”

At the mention of this, Jungkook instinctively frowned, “Not engaged yet, and won’t be, either.”

 “......”

She heard some coldness from that person’s voice. Lisa pondered for a few seconds, suddenly understanding something, “You like my older sister?”

 Jungkook: “......”

Jungkook’s face was expressionless, his voice cold and bored: “You think too much.”

“Oh,” Lisa blushed a little, “I’m sorry.”

Jungkook was silent for two seconds, “Jungkook doesn’t like your sister either, so he won’t get engaged to her.”

 “......?”

The topic switched abruptly, making Lisa somewhat confused. She, with her eyes closed, turned in the teenager’s direction, but out of politeness, Lisa still tried to take responsibility for the other party’s words, “Everyone says that my older sister is pretty.”

Jungkook lightly scoffed, “If we’re really considering prettiness, then wouldn’t Jungkook have married you?”

 Lisa was dumbfounded.

Jungkook also reacted to what he said. Subconsciously frowning, he then averted his gaze, “But he only likes beautiful eyes, so he won’t like you."

 “......”
