Steadily light stepping through the night, I arrived at my destination by morning. Three horses were tethered outside, none of them looked familiar but the smell of Emerald lingered in the air. Soon after I caught Silver's distinct scent. Before I even walked halfway through the courtyard Silver opened the door and stepped out to look over me briefly.
Wearing a pale blue robe with silver embroidery, it was hard to imagine he was such a highly ranked killer, his appearance was surreal. Only upon looking at the details of the embroidery did you start to notice the sharp thorns among the flowers. His long hair was mostly left down with only the sides brought up in the back and held in place by a silver hair pin that looked as if forged from thorns. Standing a head taller than myself, his features appeared detached and frigid.
"He'll be arriving soon. You should change, he doesn't like it when you dress like this. Just go along with his request." Silver said in a nonchalant voice.
I had changed into a plain long black robe that floated freely in the morning breeze. My hair was pulled over to the left side of my head and fixed with a simple clasp. I carried a light bag on my shoulder with an extra outfit. Silver's face radiated a cold and indifferent look as his eyes moved away from me and wandered towards a small building to his right.
The winds shifted, blowing from behind me towards Silver causing his back to turn rigid. He made an obvious attempt to stop breathing until the wind died down. He'd been like this for many years now, appearing to turn sickly as the poisonous scents from my body intruded upon his senses.
Most people were only affected by the toxins when my fresh blood was exposed to them, the scent of my skin was rumored to smell of something wonderful. Anyone you asked would say it smelled differently. Some claimed a sweet scent, others claimed a floral or earthy scent. Either way, Silver was the only person I'd ever met to have such a reaction, which put me in a bad mood. Because of this phenomenon we typically avoided each other. Still, I never discussed any of this with him so when we did happen to meet I acted oblivious to his abhorrence.
I unceremoniously dropped my shoulder bag to the ground and untied the black silk belt around my waist, letting the robes naturally separate. The black silk wrap I wore around my chest was exposed to see while the belt fell to the ground silently. My finger tugged gently at the soft waistband of my pants for Silver to see. He quickly turned around and retreated back into his building, leaving me alone in the open.
"You can change in the building to your left." Silver yelled before slamming the door closed, disturbing the image of a heavenly god incarnate as he vented his irritation.
I held back a giggle before picking up my bag and entering the side building which contained Emerald within. Normally I wouldn't have acted in such a way to Silver, but I needed something to release the anger I felt rising from our brief reunion. Emerald quickly stood up to greet me, a look of disappointment spread when she realized her visitor was not someone else.
Throwing my bag on a nearby stool and unceremoniously undressing the rest of the way, I ignored her. As I reached towards my bag Emerald reached out and moved it, her wide eyes looked up at me as she pointed towards a robe hanging near the bed. With a heavy sigh I walked over to the robes to take a closer look. They were dark blue with a few embroidered designs tastefully added throughout the outer robes. A red silk belt and light weight red cloak with blue embroidery were also provided.
"What's the meaning of this?" I asked in a not too happy tone. "It looks like something Angst purchased." Tears immediately rose to her eyes, but she didn't let out so much as a sound. The smell of something dark and earthy enveloped my senses, my body naturally went into high alert as I realized Angst was coming to visit.
