I left the small side building, hoping to figure out when I could leave and remove the glass snakes. Several servants walked too closely to the open windows of the building and were affected by the toxins venting out. Their eyes glazed over as they stared blankly in my direction. I told them to go to their quarters and rest, they nodded dumbly and obeyed my command.
In large doses the poisons would render a person dazed and could cause hallucinations. In more reasonable doses I gained complete control over the person as I became the center of their world. Smaller doses wouldn't work on Angst as only an overwhelming amount of poison could pierce through his counteracting defenses. The effects wouldn't last as long on him as others, cut short by the poisons within him eating away my own. The duration of my poison was reduced significantly after his experiment was completed.
Emerald hurriedly rushed out of a door and stopped upon seeing me standing in the center of the courtyard. I felt uneasy, found in the same location twice, as I felt Silver's presence quickly following her out. He stopped abruptly, his hand reached out in an intimate manner to prevent Emerald from walking forward. The gesture irritated me even though I couldn't pinpoint why. The feelings slammed into a pile of many other things currently frustrating and hurting me. Emerald trembled slightly as her body indecisively wanted to both move towards the smell of my poison and retreat.
"You never change. How much did you bleed out to get his attention? Did you get what you wanted? Are you satisfied?" Silver's words pierced through me almost as painfully as the glass snakes inside.
I stood before my accuser with my assailant comfortably sitting some distance behind me. The presence of a third person coming out from the same doorway irritated me all the more, who was this nobody coming to watch this embarrassing scene? Although not as attractive as the first and third masters, nor even my brief comparison of Torch, the person in front of me wasn't bad looking either. Unfortunately I wasn't in the mood to talk to pretty people, whether they be male or female made no difference to me in the moment.
His grin spread even wider as the faintest traces of my poison hit his senses, arousing pleasant thoughts in his mind. Most of the wind had carried the poison away only leaving small traces of it in the wide open spaces. Inside the bedroom, the poisons would probably linger for a while longer, perhaps until morning. I felt Angst's presence coming closer from behind me and turned slowly to see him saunter out the door. His eyes were fully focused and clear again.
"You'll marry me today. If you don't agree I'll marry you off to him, with a few clauses to the marriage." Angst proclaimed in front of everyone. I turned around to take a better look at the random person that was becoming more irritating by the moment.
"No." I stated to no one and everyone. Emerald sighed in relief.
"Just marry him, you've already gone through so much trouble." Silver remarked, causing my temper to rise until nearly losing control.
Emerald turned towards him full of fury. For the first time ever I saw a bit of regret wash over Silver's unmarred face. So that's the plot twist. Silver wants to marry off Angst so he's unavailable, leaving no opportunity for Emerald to claim the love she desires. In the end giving Silver the possibility of claiming Emerald as his own. The entire plot coming full circle like this really left me in the worst possible mood I could think of.
"Be my queen." Random person exclaimed.
".... phhf." I stared blankly at him before making a disgusted noise. Everything about this disgusted me.
"I'm the top assassin and lord of the western prairies, Jayce. I'll take you back to live with us for the next year. If you're not satisfied with your accommodations I'll bring you back. Stories of your skills reached me long ago, I've been looking for you ever since." He exclaimed, as if I were some noble lady reaching out for limbs. I rolled my eyes, certain things could not get any lower than this. Yet at that very moment I felt Angst quickly approach to hold my hand.
