The following day, Jack explained everything to Mrs. Hanson, the governess. He elaborated on the strictly necessary details of their relationship in order to avoid confusion. The woman was livid. For someone who was supposed to know about everything that happened in the Torrington House, she was completely in the dark about them.
This leads us to the present day, where Zach is about to enter Jack's quarters. Mrs. Hanson approaches.
"You look dazzling, Zachary." She comments.
He turns his head to the side and smiles warmly. "Thank you." Zach chuckles. "I will never get used to these awful cravats."
She laughs quietly and moves closer to him to fix it. "You do not wish to try one of my corsets, do you? The cravat would be the least of your worries."
They chuckle. "I reckon they are quite uncomfortable. You do not need to wear one if you feel discomfort. I am sure Jack would not impose it to you."
Mrs. Hanson smiles. "He is quite the kind soul, I am aware. Every time I put on a corset, I am reminded that I have been chosen by the late Viscount to serve him diligently. It gives me purpose." She explains. "It shall give me even more purpose if I serve you, as well."
He smiles even more fondly and grabs her hands. "It is a delight to have you not only as a mentor but also as a mother figure. You have comforted me in my worst moments, and I will be forever grateful for your kindness."
"Oh dear..." She hugs him tightly.
The doors open, revealing Jack. He was in a navy blue blazer. Under it, a caramel vest with intricate red patterns and a garnet cravat to match. A brooch stood out in the bow. It shone beautifully.
"Oh, my love..." Jack mumbles as he takes in the immense beauty that is Zachary Herron. Mrs. Hanson withdrew to give them privacy.
Zach was wearing a dark blue suit with a honeydew green vest with embroidered flowers. A mint green cravat adorned his neck.
He smiles. "Hello, Jack. You look quite handsome tonight."
"Goodness, you are..." he finds it difficult to form words, "...you are indescribable. How are you so angelic, sweetheart?"
"Quite charming as always, I see." Zach giggles.
Jack grabs his hand and kisses it. "I speak from the heart. It is not charm; it is honesty. You are truly beautiful, my love."
Zach smiles. "You too, my darling." He gives his hand a small squeeze. "Perhaps we should go. It has been a while since your mother left."
"Anything for you, sweetheart." He points his elbow out for him to hook his arm on him.
Zach gladly takes it, and they walk to the carriage. Jack allows him to enter first, and only then does he settle next to him. He knocks on the ceiling twice and off they go.
Jack turns to him and looks at him like he is the most beautiful landscape to ever exist-in awe of his person. Zach turns to him and looks at him. "Yes, Jack?"
He blinks as he returns to the real world. "Yes, my love?"
Zach chuckles. "You were staring at me, darling."
"How could I not? You look absolutely ethereal tonight." He asks rethorically with a smile.
Zach cups his face with one hand and gives him a short kiss. Jack smiles and presses their lips together once again.

Their arrival was not missed by anyone. Everyone was staring at the man standing beside the Viscount Torrington. They stood out amongst all black suits and white vests.
