Zach puts on his brand new suit. A hickory blazer over a tan vest with embroidered flowers and a sage green cravat. Most suits had arrived and put in Jack's quarters in order to avoid any suspicions from his mother. How she still was unaware of everything was surprising.
He ties the cravat to the best of his abilities, but Jack comes up behind him and fixes it. "Beautiful, my love." He kisses his shoulder.
The brunet smiles as his left hand reaches into his hand. He intertwines their fingers and looks at them in the mirror. "I hope everything goes well." Jack comments.
"Even if it does not, we still have one another." He reassures. "We are to get married regardless." Zach turns to him and loops his arms around him.
"Pray tell, how do you always know what to say?" He pinches his eyebrows together, pleading for some sort of answer.
Zach chuckles as he caresses his shoulders and chest. "It is a secret I shall never reveal to your person."
Jack pulls him closer as he smiles. "I suppose I can live without such knowledge if your laughter continues being so mellow." He unites their foreheads. "It is delightful to be the one to make you laugh so sweetly." His hands rest on his waist.
"It is one of my favourite things about you." He confesses. "You rip a smile out of me like it is nothing. I adore it."
The Viscount smiles fondly. "I love you."
"I love you, Jack." He grazes their lips together.
The two share a loving kiss, with Jack swaying them slowly, earning cute giggles from his lover.
A knock on the door is heard, alerting the lovebirds, who parted.
"Yes?" Jack asks before giving him a quick kiss.
"The guests are starting to arrive, my lord. Perhaps it is in your best interest to greet them." Mrs. Hanson's voice was heard from the other side of the door.
Zach squeezes Jack's arm. "Go. I will be there when you give me the sign."
Jack nods and kisses his forehead. He takes out a letter from his coat pocket. "It is for you." He hands him it. "From my father." His voice is quiet.
The Viscount opens the door and walks out, not forgetting to blow him a kiss.
Zach sits on his couch, in front of the fireplace, and opens the letter. The parchment was yellow from how long ago it was written. It read: To my gentle Jack's Beloved.
Zach smiles.
Dear Jack's beloved,
It is with great pity that I am not there to meet you. Despite this, you must know that I will always watch over you two.
To have Jack bewitched to the point of marriage is an accomplishment in itself. Ever since he was a child, he has disliked the idea of marrying a woman. Therefore, you truly must be an extraordinary person.
My, or rather, your Jack is a loving person. He will take care of you before he cares for himself. Due to the reasons mentioned, I merely wish to request some things from you, if it is not too much trouble. They are:
1. Ease his anxieties. I find that tea and a comforting conversation relax him.
2. Dance with him. Despite not liking the social part of parties, he does enjoy dancing.
3. Play with him. Jack adores the pianoforte despite liking silence above all else.
4. Do not let him drown in work. There is more to life than making sure the accounts are in order.
5. Make him happy. For his smile warms the heart of all.
6. Love him. As much as he loves you. Show him beautiful things, and he shall, too.
