Music played animatedly. Jack was dancing with Isla, who insisted she had improved a lot after taking dancing lessons.

He twirls her twice as he smiles widely. "Jack, I'm going to get dizzy!" She chuckles.

The curly head chuckles. "Did you not want to dress like a princess? This is how they dance!"

They laugh, making sure not to be too loud. Once the dance ends, they bow ceremoniously to one another. Jack makes sure to make his movements exaggerated to make her giggle.

He stretches out her hand for her to take and walks over with her to give Isla some lemonade.

"Such a caring older brother..."A woman speaks up. He smiles when he recognises the voice.

"Christina." He bows.

"Jack." She bows. "And this is?" She looks at the little girl.

"My youngest sister, Isla."

Christina stretches her hand. "Christina, it is a pleasure to meet you, darling."

She holds tightly onto Jack's arm.

"It is fine, Isla. Christina is my friend." He reassures.

Isla hesitantly, stretches her arm for her to shake.

Christina chuckles.

"Do you want to stay a bit with our mother?" He asks. "You can, if you want to." Jack reassures.

Isla rushes over to their mother's side. Jack chuckles at her shyness.

"Quite different from Ava, I see."

Jack grabs a cup of champagne and thanks the servant. "Isla has always been shy. She only started speaking when she was five."

"Really? That is unusual."

"Her first words were no, it is five-hundred and twenty-eight. My father was adding up the wrong numbers. She corrected him."

"Oh, a prodigy? I have just the person for you to meet then."

"More people?" He groans.

She drags him over to a group of distinct men. There was a man with bright blue eyes and dark blond hair.

Christina called his attention, and he rushed to her side.

"Jack, meet Daniel Seavey. A mathematician, filosopher, musician, and nearly medical practitioner."

The Viscount's eyebrows raise. "That is a lot of things. Quite the prodigy."

"It is like my father says: when one deeply understands arithmetic, music becomes fairly simple. When one reflects on life and its meaning, one can become a filosopher. When one is curious about the human body, they become doctors."

"Daniel, meet Viscount Jack Avery of Torrington. My dear friend and brother of the bride."

The two shake hands.

"Jack was telling me how his younger sister loves arithmetic. Perhaps you could have a word with her."

The curly head chuckles nervously. "Isla is quite shy... I doubt she will direct a word to you."

"Pardon me for the interruption." A woman speaks up. She was tall, with brown hair and green eyes. "Grace of Sussex. This might be a bit too... rash of me, but would you like to dance, Viscount Torrington?"

Jack blinks once. He points at himself. "W-With me?"

"Are you not Viscount Torrington?"

The curly head chuckles nervously. "I am, I was merely surprised." He stretches his hand. "Allow me."
