After eating around and conversing with some distant family members, Jack drags Zach to meet someone. Not that Jack ever did this. Zach was truly surprised by this... need to see actual people.
"My love, this is the Prince of the Netherlands, Corbyn Besson, and the man managing the mines in South Africa, Jonah Marais."
Zach bows to them.
"And you two are the talk of this event." Corbyn jokes.
"It is not like it is out marriage or anything, in particular." Zach jokes back.
They all laugh.
"Oh Jack, he is as delightful as you wrote. Perhaps I should have visited earlier." Corbyn comments.
Zach turns to Jack. "You wrote to them? Talking about my very self?"
Jack smiles warmly. "Of course. It would be rather inconvenient if they did not know anything about you at our wedding, my love." He reasons. "Moreover, you are too well entangled in my soul not to speak of you."
"I have received a thoughtful three page letter, in which one page was completely about you." Jonah comments.
Zach blushes. "Oh goodness..." He chuckles nervously. "I had no idea. Pardon me if it has inconvenienced you in any -"
"It is quite peculiar seeing a man whose head is always focused on managing things suddenly become devastatingly struck by love." Corbyn admits.
"Nonetheless, it is still very enjoyable to see him turn into a poet. You are quite lucky." Jonah smiles.
Zach looks at Jack once more. "I truly am."
Kristin approaches. "Your majesty. Lord Marais." She greets them with a bow and turns to Jack. "It is time to cut the cake." She quickly reminds him before leaving.
Jack nods and holds Zach's hand. "Is everything alright, Jack?" He asks quietly.
"It is time we cut the cake."
"Very well." Zach nods once and turns to Corbyn and Jonah. "It was a pleasure to be graced with your presence here. You should visit us soon." He smiles.
The two men nod, and the couple makes a beeline to the cake table. Everyone was staring at it, wanting to take a bite. It looked absolutely delicious.
They are the first to be served cake. Jack turns to him as he eats it. "I am fully aware that it is cake, on a cake day." Zach smiles, and Jack moves closer to his ear. "However, it is a day-old cake."
Zach chuckles and moves to face him after he eats a forkful of cake. "Have I ever told you how much I love you?" They chuckle. Jack leans in with a smile. Zach sets a hand on his chest. "Manners, Viscount Torrington." He reminds him.
Jack breathes out, trying to keep his urges in. "It is unfair." He mumbles. "I want to kiss you."
Zach looks around, only moving his eyes. "Perhaps there are some... matters we need to urgently tend to in your study."
Jack smiles widely as he sets both their plates down. "I adore your intellect, my love." He stretches his arm out for him to hook his own on his. He gladly takes it, and the two start moving away from the guests.
Zach accidentally bumps against a woman. They stop, and he profusely apologises immediately. Jack smiles. "Gabriela."
The brunet looks at Jack. "Oh, you know her?" He asks.
Jack turns him to her. "My love, this is Gabriela. She taught me how to..." He trails off, trying to find the right words.
"Be closer to you." She clarifies.
