AFTER Teresa and Lana were
dressed, a woman was waiting
for them outside the showers. She looked like a doctor, with white
clothes, and brown hair. "Come with
me, just this way."

Teresa and Lana stayed close to each other, knowing they couldn't trust anyone, as they followed the doctor to another room. This one was bigger, with more people dressed in white bustling around. Syringes, medicines, and other medical equipment were scattered about, all familiar to Lana.

To her surprise, she saw the boy in the room, running on a treadmill while the doctors examined his strength and health.

"Wait here, please," the doctor instructed, seating Teresa and Lana on white beds. Lana looked around and saw Newt, Winston, Thomas, and Frypan receiving injections as well.

She searched for Minho but was interrupted by a sudden voice.

"Lana? Am I right?"

She nodded.

Another female doctor stood before her. "Would you come with me?"

After taking a last look at Minho, she nodded and followed the woman.

"Minho, keep running, and please do not leave until your medical checks are complete."

"Where's she going?" he asked.

There was no reply.

Lana was told to sit in a small room
with a window on one side. She
noticed another chair on the opposite
side of the table. The door opened, and
Mr. Janson entered, taking a seat
across from her.

"I assume your powers have restored
your memories?" he asked, his smile
fading into a frown.

Her eyes widened. "How does he
know?" she wondered.

"I- what are you talking about?" she
stammered.

"Oh, cut the bullshit, Lana." He
slammed the table, making her flinch.

He clasped his hands together and
sighed. "Look, I know you're Paige's
daughter."

"But I need to know whose side you're
on."

"What?"

"Them or ours?"

"WCKD," she mumbled.

"Yes, now choose." He looked directly
at her with a smug grin on his face.

"I'm sorry, I just- I can't right now."

"It's a lot to process."

He stood up and slammed the table
again. "There's no later, Lana."

"I swear, I would've killed you if you
weren't Paige's daughter. CHOOSE!" he
yelled.

"Stop, please, I just need more time."
For the first time, she felt genuinely
scared.

Lana backed up until she hit the wall,
with Janson advancing. He reached
into his pocket, pulling out a dagger
that gleamed. He pressed it against
her neck, drawing blood.

"You were an annoying little brat, you knew who I really was," he said, pushing the dagger deeper.

"I said stop!" she shouted.

Janson halted.

"Uh, put the knife on the table," Lana ordered. He complied.

"Take a step back."
