009 - 𝐃𝐨 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?

Lana was just staring at the maze figure Minho made until she heard footsteps, she knew that it was Minho and Thomas since she overheard that Thomas was officially a runner. She heard the door open which made her look up.

"Hey."

"I didn't expect you to be here," Minho said.

"Well like said, expect the unexpected."

"How can we expect the—" Thomas joins in.

"Shush." she hushed Thomas.

"Anyways, This is the room where the runners would draw their patterns as they go in the maze," Minho explained.

"This is the maze."

"All of it." He added.

"What do you mean "All of it"?"

"I thought you were still mapping or memorizing it?" Thomas asked.

"There's nothing left to map," Lana responded.

"I and Lana ran every inch of it ourselves," Minho added.

"every cycle."

"every pattern."

"If there was a way out, I would've taken the chance," Lana commented.

"And you haven't told anyone yet?" Thomas asked once again.

Both Minho and Lana looked at each other. "It was Alby's call," Minho replied.

"I mean people needed to believe that we had a chance to get out so that we wouldn't start a riot." Lana also replied.

Minho walked beside Thomas. "Maybe this time, we do have a real chance."

"This is my first time agreeing with you," Lana reported.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Minho replied.

"You guys are good now?" Thomas asked.

"Yeah," The duo said in sync.

Minho then handed the thing to Thomas, Lana was immediately interested.

"Let me see that." She said.

Thomas handed her the metal thing as soon as she touched it, scenes started flashing through her eyes and she stumbled. She saw Jeff dying, Grievers attacking the Glade, witnessing Alby's death in front of her eyes, them entering section 7 and Gally tying up Thomas. Luckily she didn't drop the metal thing.

"Whoa, careful," Thomas warned her.

"Yeah, okay," Lana replied.

She saw something glowing, it said the number seven. And that name, WCKD.

"Where did you get this?"

"From the Griever we killed," Thomas replied.

"What does the number seven have to do with this?" Lana lied.

"Okay, so we started exploring the outer part of the maze just a year ago and we saw numbers written on the walls, sections, one to eight."

"But the night when you guys killed that Griever section seven was open, so the Griever probably came through that section," Minho added.

"Probably." Lana handed back the metal thing to them.

Jeff and another boy then ran in front of the room panting, it looked like they were in a hurry.

"Hey!"

"You aren't supposed to be here!" Minho started complaining.

"Sorry, it's just the..."
