"Please tell me you're just messing with my head," I wrapped my hands around his arms, flashing a smile as he held onto me- putting me back down on the floor as soon as I tapped his arm gently, facing him once again, "Did my father-"

"He was just looking for you." Draco explained, "I added the 'in trouble' part just to see how you'd react." He let off a laugh.

"Don't do that!" I playfully slapped his chest, "Nearly had me panicking."

"Where were you, anyway?" He asked me, "It felt as if we haven't really talked in... Well, a while."

"Quidditch Practice." I caught a sorrow look in his eye, "I was just seeing what the big deal was with Harry's skills." It wasn't totally a lie, although I still wouldn't dare tell Draco that I thought Harry's Quidditch skills were superb.

"You've got to come to a real Quidditch Practice," He smiled gloatingly, "Support your own House for a chance."

"Of course I'll support my own House," I said quickly, "on the day of the match."

Draco gently ruffled my hair, "You better."

"Pretty sure my dad'll have me ousted from Slytherin if I don't support our House during Quidditch." I chuckled, "Hey, Draco?" Here we go.

"Yeah?" He asked me, opening the door to the common room and holding it open so I entered first- like the perfect little gentleman.

"If I had accidently made other plans that occurred during the big Halloween feast, would you want to join me?" I asked him, quickly adding on, "Or at least cover for me when my father doesn't see me in the Great Hall."

"What would a First Year like you have planned?"

"A Deathday Party." I said quickly, hoping he wouldn't question too much into it. I don't even think I'd know how to properly explain it.

"A Deathday Party?" Draco asked, "Why on Earth would you want to go to one of those?"

"Hey!" I nudged his arm, "I bet there aren't many living people who can say they've ever been to one." I added, "Besides, Nearly Headless Nick asked both Harry and I if we'd join, and I didn't feel like telling either one of them 'Nah, I don't feel like doing it'. Especially since-" I cut myself off. I shouldn't go into too much detail about what happened tonight, in case he decided he wanted to go off track and mention how Harry ended up in Filch's office tonight.

"I just can't see why you'd ever want to go to one of those parties," He told me, "Let alone for Nearly Headless Nick." He lowered his voice, almost as if he didn't want anyone else to hear what he had to say (as if he was saying a forbidden word), "He's Gryffindor, Melody."

"So was my mother." I told him, "I could've been one too, you know."

He placed his finger against his lips, "Shh."

"You shush." I said, "It's true. You know it's true. Not all of us come from entire family lines of Slytherin."

Rain was still lashing the windows, which were now inky black. But inside, everything looked... Well, still kind of depressing. I don't know if Salazar Slytherin was as depressing as he made his common room, but at least he knew how to make it look almost elegant-like. The Common Room was a dark forest green-like color mixed with a black color scheme. There was a low glow of a fire shining, but not too much since most Slytherins apparently prefer darkness over anything else. Really does explain the Malfoy's Manor. Guess it seems more richer, or whatever. I wouldn't know. My own house can get pretty bright, even with the dark color schemes inside the house. A few other students were scattered around the room; some gossiping amongst one another in the corners, while others laid sprawled out on the armchairs and couches- reading or doing homework for class. Crabbe and Goyle had already been eyeballing Draco once we entered the common room. Even Pansy was taking notice of my boy's presence.
