The four ninja had almost gotten to their brother when suddenly they were stopped once more- by Stockman in some mech suit. To help his little insectoid body be stronger.
"Cmon, we can't give up now guys! We've come too far!"
Leo went to encourage his teammates but they didn't need any encouragement because-
"We'd never give up on our brother, fearless!"

Michelangelo was stuck hearing what sounded like absolute calamity, that he could not see. He desperately wanted to take a look yet he couldn't move from his manacles. It almost scared him as much as it intrigued him- what if the building was collapsing? He would be left here and squished! All he could do was squirm like a useless worm, it made him feel helpless and even nauseous- smaller and smaller as his binding dug bruises and cuts into limbs from his never ceasing body. What peril was happening outside his cage?

He was caged upon cages and yet even more cages, it seemed quite incessant and unnecessary. But he heard echoing throughout the stone that sounded familiar, didn't he? Had a voice of a hero truly crawled through the pipes, squeezed through the pores of stone and hit him over the head- reverberating through the squiggles of his brain? Or was he simply hearing voices? It wouldn't be the first time his mind had duped him, and usually it wasn't too distressing. But in this environment? It surely was.

It wasn't too long before he heard heavy metal thuds near him and the voices were clearer. More clear than ever. Someone had to be there. Please say he hadn't lost his mind so badly. He tried to focus on the noises he was hearing.

Clangs of metal, words he thought were about himself. Something about a conductor- it was all very muffled until a very clear explosion ripped through the air, Michelangelo shrieked at the sudden sound. And he was even more terrified as the roof outside his cell crumbled down- pieces of broken machinery melted and aflame falling to the ground in a mountain of debris. Yet after the explosion and all, four familiar forms dropped down into the hole from the ceiling. Mikey felt something that felt absent from him in a while- pure unbridled joy rippled throughout his being at the sight of his siblings, so much so he didn't even care if he was hallucinating.

"Bubba! Sis!"
His voice was hoarse and crackly- making his already high pitched voice sound very pitiful. They were to the bars of his cage in an instant- it didn't take much to knock them down from the frame of the wall since most of the ceiling had already been destroyed. Leonardo and Karai used their blades to slice the binding off their brother's limbs, his wrists and ankles were scabbed up from cuts where he had struggled against the manacles. They were horrified at the sight of him, yet glad that they found him.

Karai picked him up, and the ninja ran out of the prison, right through the doors. It was almost too easy, really.

Michelangelo was so tired.

So very very tired.

As the night air slithered between his eyelashes, they fluttered shut.

Goodnight for now.

The ground was wet with mud- red mud. Like jello beneath the paws. Each step taken will sink you deeper and deeper, closer to the monster's hiding below. This is such an odd dream? Or maybe it's a nightmare? It's all fading away. Floating and floating away, pulled towards the confines of consciousness as eyes close.

Michelangelo woke up alone. Everything seemed off, the light above was spotting and in a million shards like a broken chandelier of perfectly shattered glass and crystal alike. He swung himself off of whatever cot he was on and wobbly wobbled to the bathroom, slamming the door. He felt like a drunk baby trying to take its very first steps. Mikey had to hold onto the sink for support, and when he looked up at the mirror it was the first time he got a clear look at himself.
And he screamed.
