Gio looks at himself in the mirror, making sure he looks presentable. He puts one corner of his locs into a ponytail, letting the rest stay down. He has his merch on which has his name on the front, taking up most of the shirt. On the back he has a huge spider.
He grabs his phone out of his pocket and flops down onto his bed to get comfortable. His thumb dance across the screen navigating FaceTime. He wants to talk to Kani just to check in on her because he hasn't seen her in a few days.
He clicks the lime green "new FaceTime" button and types in Kani's contact name. He hovers over FaceTime button, feeling a fluttering sensation in his stomach. He takes a deep breath to steady himself and presses the button. His phone rings for a while before it connects, revealing 'Wasteland' album tapestry that spreads across Kani's celling.
Gio raises his eyebrows, a spark of curiosity lighting up his eyes as he poses the question to Kani. "Wassup with you?" His slightly raspy voice cuts through the air with warmth and comfort.
"Nothing." She mumbles lowly, grabbing her phone to put her face into the camera.
Gio gets lost into his gaze, taking in her natural beauty. She doesn't have on any lashes like usual. She has on a light pink 'Mea Culpa' beanie over her blonde bohemian knotless braids. She's also has on a light pink sport bra which shows the top part of her cleavage.
Gio draws himself back to reality, remembering what she last said. "Why you haven't been coming to school den?"
Everything goes silent for a moment as he stares deep into Kani's eyes. His heart shatters when he sees tears forming in her eyes. She couldn't hold it in and tears start streaming down her face. She quickly moves the camera from her face, back to her celling.
"Imma just come over. Is that okay?" He murmurs softly.
"Yeah. That is." She sniffles.
"Alright i'll see you later den." Gio murmurs before hanging up.
Gio pulls himself out of his bed, letting out a loud grunt. Slipping his phone into the back pocket of his sweatpants, he treads over to his desk with a sense of urgency. He grabs his car keys and heads out into the common area of his house. His eyes scan the room, looking for his mom. She is no where in sight though.
"Lexi whea ma at?" Gio questions, drifting his attention to his younger sister who is engrossed in an episode of 'Big City Greens' while sitting comfortably on the sofa.
