Lucius was your only company during your bedrest.
He helped you with adjusting to the overwhelming noise. He left the windows open so you could get used to the noise outside, and he even went as far to craft a noise cancelling device. But it didn't work, seeing that you had no ears, neither did it make sense why noises would overwhelm you.
"That's strange," he said, "maybe it isn't the noise that's bothering you?" He tilts his head in question.
You weren't sure yourself, you were literally born a while ago. And it seemed like you spent most of your bug life in this clinic. But you assume that you'll figure it out one day, the same way you learned about yourself while with Lucius.
In your first cycle, they told you to eat something. Naturally, you were confused how to do that. You were a human in your past life and not very fond of bugs, even if you were, your bug form was not blessed with a mouth. They told you that some bugs don't have mouths, but they do have a different method to consume nutrients.
So, you did just that. You figured out a way to consume the food they offered, by pushing the meal they offered into your belly. It went inside just like you hoped, but you didn't feel full as one might expect. You know well what eating feels like, you were a human once, and this was not what eating feels like. It was as if the food just vanished into your body.
"Are you gonna give the plate back?" Lucius asked as he stared at your belly, fascinated.
You could only give a shrug, unable to explain to him where all the food went if not in your stomach.
You learned two things that day. One, is that your body is void and can make things disappear in there. Two, your lack of mouth isn't the reason why you lack your voice. That one you already know, due to your nature as a vessel, but you were assured to know that, 'no mouth, doesn't mean no voice.'
In the following days you learned more about the nature of your body, how it can absorb literally anything.
You also learned the advantages of your vessel, and that it was strong by default.
When you mean strong, you meant really strong.
You can lift up furnitures single handedly like it weighs nothing. At first, you thought this was common, since you know nothing of the norms in this world.
But apparently not, according to the shocked expressions of the people in the clinic.
"That's so awesome!" Lucius praised, "when you enroll yourself to Nailarts School, getting accepted won't be a challenge!"
This caused everyone to shower you with encouraging words to apply to the nailarts school, the patients in the clinic seemed enthusiastic to see you be in nailarts than you are.
Other than knowing that it's a school that teaches self defense, you really don't know anything about it.
Overall, this place was a pleasant one. No matter what you where created for, you learned to appreciate your experiences in Dirtmouth.
Lucius made it all more wonderful with his enthusiasm, he was like the best friend anyone could ask for.
Once that Esme allowed you to leave the clinic, Lucius took you out to look around the village.
He showed you the blacksmith shop, a rest'o bar, and a Stag station that has been closed long before Lucius was born.
"Oh, how I would love to travel and explore to different places," he swooned, "it would be like an adventure! To ride on a stag as they take you into a new world!" He said dreamily.
