The New Face

For the next few months, your emotions were slowly being shown more and more. Not only that but you and the countess had been getting a lot closer too.

It was now summer and you were dusting off the piano.

"Y/n!" A voice called out.

You turned around to see Ingrid and an unfamiliar face standing next to her, the person you didn't recognize had light brown hair that's shoulder length with big blue eyes. "Yes?" You inquired looking at Ingrid..

"This is the new maid, I want to show her the ropes around the castle..." She stated, pointing to the girl.

"Alright." You agreed, Ingrid then went out of the room, leaving you alone with the girl.

"My name is Y/n, I suppose I'll be your tour guide." you shrugged

The girl smiled warmly at you, and you could've sworn there was a slight blush on her cheeks.

You cleared your throat "so... what's your name?"

"Oh my name is Serena, nice to meet you."

"Uh huh... anyways, follow me I'll show you around."

You started showing her around the castle to the new girl, exploring every room that you could think of, soon you began to notice that she started growing closer to you for some odd reason.

At the of the tour you led her down the maidens corridor to her assigned room.

"And this is your room." you stated, opening the door for her.

"Wow it looks amazing just like everything else in the Castle!" says Serena

"Yes, the Dimitrescu family has a very elegant type of taste." you said

"Well thanks for giving me this tour, I was wanting to get to know you better, would it be cool if we hung out later?" she asked.

"Sure, I don't mind that, how about we meet in the garden near the water fountain at 7 tomorrow."

"Sounds good." she smiled looking at you in an odd way that made you uncomfortable.

"Well I better get going..." You started to walk away but suddenly stopped when you felt her hug you from behind, you quickly got away from her grip and turned around to see Serena with a plastered smile across her face.

"Heh.. sorry, that was just a thanks for taking me on a tour." Serena said gleefully

"Well you didn't need to thank me, I was forced to do it." you quickly walk away avoiding any more conversation with her.

As you were in your room you started thinking about that strange interaction, 'what is wrong with her?? Why is she so clingy?' you thought as you dozed off.

In the morning you were doing your daily tasks like helping the other maidens serve breakfast, for the ladies of the castle, but someone (Serena...) would not stop clinging to you making it hard to work properly...

Not only that but she also kept on bugging you about your guys plans in the afternoon, and this led to others staring... even Alcina was staring but not like the others were staring.. Her stare was a piercing glare into both you and Selena's soul, but Serena didn't seem to notice as she was too busy yapping her mouth off to you.

When both you and Serena finished with your work for the day you started to get ready to go to the garden when you got there you couldn't help but feel like this was a terrible idea, but it was too late to turn back now.

Suddenly Serena ran up yelling "Y/N OVER HERE!!"

You see Serena and cringed slightly as her yelling made all the gardener's turn and look at the both of you but unbeknownst to the both of you the gardeners were not the only ones staring at you.

Serena was sitting at a table near the main fountain, you see her in a fancy floral dress with a black bracelet and necklace.

You walked up to the table and sat down as Serena continued to talk to you about her first day of working at the castle then she asked you about how you felt working here.

"Well I did not actually choose to work here.. But it's fine I suppose..."

"Really? Then how did you start working here??"

You sigh and explain the whole ordeal of how you got into the castle in the first place. As you were explaining you felt someone watching you and Serena that was much more threatening than the one before but you ignored the presence.

Serena tries holding your hand suggestively but you quickly pull your hand away. As you pull away Serena makes a pouty face towards you biting her lip. You look away in humiliation as people still look.

Suddenly someone pulls you by the hair onto the ground "Y/n, my mother wants to speak with you." says Cassandra.

"Wh-" before you even get to speak Cassandra continues to pull you by the hair all the way to the countess's room, she tosses you into the room and closes the door dramatically.

As Serena is still there looking confused as every not know who the sisters were.

You slowly stood up and dust yourself off wondering why she was acting more violent than usual, you looked around the room and saw no one, you then headed to the balcony to see Lady Dimitrescu overlooking the garden...

"Uhm... you wanted to see me?" you questioned.

The countess turned around and glared at you while she held a glass of "wine"

"Y/n... are you trying to make me angry?" she asked, in a calm tone though the look on her face was one of utter distaste.

"I don't understand what you mean my lady..." you said meekly.

"Don't act clueless." she seethed.

"Is it about me hanging out with the new maid..?" you said unsurely

"No! It's simply that she is obviously distracting you from your work, I could care less that she is hanging around you!" She lied through her teeth.

"Well then that's an easy fix, so i'll be going now-"

Alcina grabbed your wrist stopping you. "You are not dismissed maiden! There's more to be said...
