You walked through the castle looking for Ingrid, as you traveled through the halls you suddenly heard voices.
you walked towards them and identified one as Ingrid, it sounded as if she were scolding someone, probably a maid if you had to guess.
You turned the corner to see Ingrid and Velvet, “you need to be more careful. If I hadn't been here you would have messed up and the girls would certainly turn you into wine!” Ingrid seethed at her.
“I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to..” Velvet muttered.
“Do you think ‘I didn't mean to’ will suffice for the daughters!?” she huffed putting her hands onto her hips.
“Ingrid.” you interrupted.
The two looked at you, “Yes Y/n?” Ingrid questioned.
“The Lady wanted me to inform you of something…” you said.
“Go on with it.” she huffed, seeming tired.
“Mother Miranda is arriving later this afternoon, Alc– I mean, the countess wants you to make sure everything is prepared,” you said.
“Got it, thanks…” Ingrid faced Velvet, “we’ll continue this conversation later Velvet.” she stated before walking away.
Velvet was about to walk away but before she could you asked her a question.
“What was going on before I interrupted?” you asked her.
“O-oh. I almost broke something… I was lucky enough that Ingrid was nearby and prevented it from happening…” she said softly.
You nodded in understanding. “I see. Make sure you're more careful in the future…” you said before walking away.
You made your way to the library as that’s where Alcina and Miranda were having their meeting, there were still a few hours until Miranda arrived so you quickly got started cleaning the room.
As it grew closer to the meeting you went down to the kitchen and made a pot of tea, you quickly brought the tea and the cups back to the library and set them down on the coffee table.
You took a breather when you heard the doors to the library open, the countess and Mother Miranda entered the room and you bowed your head to the both of them.
“Who is this Alcina?” Miranda asked in a cold tone.
“This is my maiden, you don't mind her being in here while we talk do you?” Alcina inquired.
You stood straight back up again fixing your posture, you looked at Miranda, she was imposing…. Honestly, if you were anyone else you would probably be shaking in your boots right now…
You were nervous but Miranda did not scare you… the birdy glared at you.
“Fine, she can stay,” Miranda said while she and the countess sat down across from each other.
You poured their tea feeling Miranda’s eyes locked onto you… you swear if she kept looking at you… you took a step back after you were done pouring their tea.
“Alcina… about Ethan Winters, Heisenberg has seemed to let him slip out of his clutches,” she stated.
Alcina huffed. “This is why-”
“Don't even start.” Miranda seethed, cutting the countess off. “I don't need to hear your two senses.” the countess went silent. “You need to keep your eye out for him,” she demanded.
“Yes, Mother Miranda…” Alcina muttered.
“Now onto the other topic, … I want to give you this, make sure Ethan does not get it,” she stated.
Mother Miranda put down a weird yellow flask on the table, it said ‘head’ on it. “This is one of the parts of Rose…” she stated.
‘Parts of Rose? Who is Rose?’ you asked yourself.
“Of course Mother Miranda…” Alcina stated.
Miranda looked at you again before looking back at Alcina, “what's your maiden’s name?” she asked, making Alcina tense.
“Why do you need to know…” the countess asked defensively.
“Do I need to repeat myself?” the bird woman scolded.
You gritted your teeth and seethed, honestly the disrespect…
Alcina sighed, “her name is Y/n…”
Mother Miranda hummed, “Well then… she better not become a distraction for you Alcina…” she stated.
“W-what-” Alcina started.
“Oh please Alcina, you don't think that I don't know what you’ve been up to…” Miranda stated simply. “Don't let your plaything distract you.”
“She’s not my ‘plaything’ Mother.” the countess seethed.
“I don't care what she is to you, just don't make it a problem for me.” she glared at Alcina before standing up. “Now I have other things to attend to…” suddenly Miranda disappeared into a flock of birds flying out the windows of the library.
“Whore…” you mumbled to yourself.
Alcina sighed, and then suddenly her three daughters entered the library. “Mother, who is Ethan Winters, and Rose?” Daniela asked.
The countess stood up facing the three. “Darlings, you know eavesdropping is rude.” she scolded.
“Ugh, but we were just so bored!” Cassandra exaggerated.
“Still it is rude.” Alcina huffed.
“Sorry Mother…” they all said in unison.
“But still, who is Rose and Ethan?” Bela re-asked.
“Rose is a vessel for Mother Miranda’s daughter, and Ethan is her father, that man-thing wishes to save her…” she sighed.
“Then… doesn't that put you all in a bad place?” you asked her.
Alcina looked at you and a soft smile placed on her lips… “There’s no need to worry about us darga me… Ethan is a simple man-thing,” she stated.
That didn't make you any less worried at all, I mean just because he’s a human doesn't mean anything… you sighed.
“Mother… Can we go hunting?” Cassandra asked.
“That's fine.. but make sure you three stay together…” she waved her hand dismissing the three.
They buzzed off with excitement, when they left you sighed and Alcina looked at you. “Darga me… are you alright?” she asked you with a soft tone.
“I'm fine, just a bit worried…” you admitted.
The countess bent down to your height and kissed you on the cheek. “Darga me, no matter what I promise that I will protect you..”
You blushed at her words, she stood back up smiling and patted you on the head, “Now go on and get back to work, Meet me in my chambers at 7.” she said then left the library… Hopefully, everything will work out perfectly fine…
