3RD POV

Nicholas sat perfectly still on the bed, fighting the urge to flinch every time the healing paste touched his torn skin; the result of crashing through the glass window. It hurt, but he didn't want to make things harder for his savior. After all, she had rescued him twice now.

The forcefield was still active and taking away most of his pain, so at least it wasn't that bad. Looking down, he noticed the scratch on his right palm glowing blue, and after a few moments, the light disappeared, revealing a completely healed hand.

It was so... Bizarre. Looking back at the woman, or rather, Selin, he caught her staring at the tissue she used to wipe the blood from his injuries. Her eyes seemed intrigued, almost mesmerized at the sight. His stomach twisted uncomfortably at the thought of her being interested in his blood. What if she was a psychopath? Or a deranged person?

Swallowing his nerves, Nicholas cleared his throat and fixed his posture. It was finally time to get some answers. Hunter still hadn't woken up, so he made sure not to speak too loudly.

Nicholas: - Is.... Is something the matter?

Selin looked at him with an unreadable expression on her face. It unnerved him a bit.

Selin: - I've never seen blood like this.

Nicholas was confused. What did she mean by that? Had she never seen any blood in her life? Lucky her....

       Nicholas: - I... I don't think I understand...

The woman rolled her eyes, letting out a sigh. Then, she took a small knife from her pocket. The teen's heart skipped a beat, but to his horror, she slashed her own palm.

Blue.

Instead of red, blue blood was dripping down her hand. To say the boy was shocked would be an understatement. He had already given up on the possibility of being in a comma or a really weird dream. Even so, seeing stuff like this was yet another struggle for his logic.

Selin: - You see. I'm not like you.

A few moments pass in silence. In the meantime, the cut was slowly closing by itself.

       Nicholas: - So.... you're a witch?

Selin's eyes widened for a split second, like she had been caught off guard.

       Selin: - I'm a mage.

Her face didn't change, but the atmosphere had become increasingly tense. The protagonist wisely chose to change the subject.

       Nicholas: - Where.....where are we?

Selin: - You're in my home. And before you start asking, I'm pretty sure it's not near any place you know.

She wiped her hands and put the spare bandages away.

Selin: - From what I understand, you've no idea how you got here. Am I correct?

The teen gave a slow nod in response.

Selin: - What's the last thing you remember?

Although his narrating skills weren't all that impressive, Nicholas tried his best to give a detailed description of what had occurred. The woman was patiently listening to his explanations.

Selin: - Well kid, I'm sorry to say this but I myself have no clue on how you got here or how to send you back. No one actually does.

Nicholas: - But then.... How did you know I was a human?
