3RD POV
After the events of the previous day, both humans were still uncertain about their situation. Even now, it was hard to fully accept that they were stranded in an unfamiliar world; one filled with magic, mysteries, and countless secrets waiting to be revealed. It was fascinating... and terrifying in equal measure.
Meeting some of the estate's residents had helped realize that appearance-wise, these people weren't all that different from them. They looked human enough, aside from the striking hair and eye colors, the blue blood, and of course, their supernatural command over magic. Still, familiarity did not mean trust.
The teenagers weren't ready to lower their guard. Yes, the mages had saved their lives. Yes, they had offered them shelter and food. But that wasn't enough to make them hand over their trust. If anything, it only made them more cautious. They'd watch. They'd adapt. But trust? That would take time.
Now, when it came to the mages, well, that's a different story. Selin was more at ease. Aside from Hunter's ill temper, he posed no threat. Plus, being a very good judge of character herself, she knew when someone had bad intentions.
Zana was both excited and skeptical. She was raised to believe humans were the catalyst that led to the Great War. But, she also recognized their ability to create things, mages could not. A lot of people think they're evil, but Zana can now see, that's not the case.
Severed is completely overwhelmed with all the new information. Having scanned their' brains, he was exposed to a world beyond his wildest imagination. A world so very different from their own. A place unique and extraordinary. And if everything he saw was true, then humans were far a superior race to mage kind. Their inventing and innovating skills were on a whole other level. However, he was also quite saddened and disturbed by some other things he saw.
Apparently, humans and mages were more alike when it came to violence. He saw horrible things happen to both boys, as well as the history behind their relationship. Despite wanting to help, he chose not to bring anything up. Though, he did make a mental note to be careful in his approach.
Kenju, well....he was just Kenju. He had nothing against Hunter, since he drank the coffee. Though, when it came to Nicholas, that was another story. Kenju had positively become obsessed with the youngster, believing him to be his one and only friend, since yesterday's events. This, of course, became painfully clear the very next morning...
The next morning....
As the two moons, (yes, there are two moons), slowly surrendered to the rising sun, the dark blue night sky shifted into shades of warm orange and soft cyan. Morning light slipped through the glass windows of the estate, gently urging its residents to wake.
Nicholas lay still beneath a warm cocoon of blankets, his expression peaceful for the first time in a long while. The healing forcefield worked quietly, mending their injuries and easing every lingering ache. Selin had brought them a fresh plant earlier in the night, since the previous one had already expired. Apparently, its magic only lasted a few hours before needing to be replaced.
At first, the boys were amazed by the plant's healing abilities. But their awe didn't last long. The moment Selin explained how the it actually functioned, that amazement twisted into worry.
FLASHBACK
Nicholas: - S...so, it needs.... blood?
