Today is our next appointment and Delia is super nervous about it, but I've assured her everything will be fine. It's been hard for her to adjust to being pregnant especially because it didn't come over time. She found a spell and accompanying potion for it which we took before bed so it would transpire during our sleep.
two weeks ago
I flip over onto my other side to face my blonde beauty just as she's waking up. She smiles and I return it, still a little dazed from sleep. "Do you feel any different?" she asks and I furrow my eyebrows, "the spell" she reminds me and I chuckle softly at my ditzy state. "Nope. You?" I ask as I wake up more, "n-" she stops and her face scrunches up.
"What's wrong?" I ask worriedly, "oh my god" she gags and my eyes widen as I sit up. "Aw shit — come on, sweetie" I try to usher her gently out the bed but she shakes her head in protest "uh uh" she adds. "Yes, darling. You're gonna wanna be in the bathroom for this" I advise as I finally get her up and quickly towards the toilet.
the present
We enter the examination room and Delia's leg has pretty much been bouncing non-stop since we left the house. "Relax, honey. Everyone's going to be ok" I assure her with a hand on her arm, "I still don't even know what to tell her" she whines. We're interrupted by a knock on the door, "maybe she won't notice" I joke and the blonde just side-eyes me as Arizona walks in. "I see we're all in a good mood" the blonde doctor jokes and my girlfriend narrows her eyes at her too before calming down.
"So... how are we?" she asks both of us, "I feel pretty good" I answer happily while Delia just says she's fine and I pat her arm playfully. We go through the process again of the doctor putting the gel on my belly to check on the babies health. "Hmm..." she says and I glance at Delia but don't say anything. My first thought was that she could simply make Arizona forget or even just make her think we were both pregnant in the first place.
Delia declined because Fiona used that magic on people and it was never for good, she didn't want to be reminded of that, and I completely understood. "I don't see the third little one..." Arizona says as she keeps searching, "welp, guess she must've gotten absorbed" I spit out with a nonchalant shrug of my shoulders. "But-" "by the way, Cordelia's pregnant too" I say quickly and the blonde gets distracted at least for a moment.
"Huh?" Doctor Robbins replies, "she was a bit nervous, she doesn't do so well around doctors and wanted to see that it would be ok before she did an exam. We've been doing the same things though, so it should be all good" I explain and she looks like she's in shock, I turn to Delia and she's staring at me too. I simply wink at her, a silent way to tell her I always have her back. Arizona quickly readjusts and finishes my exam, asking Lia to get on the table after me.
I hold her hand since this is her first exam and she looks absolutely petrified. I mean at least I didn't lie about the doctor part. "It will all be great" I mouth to her and she bites her lip nervously. "Oh would you look at that... such a cute little nugget" Arizona says and we both look at the monitor to see it. I glance at Delia and she has tears in her eyes as she looks at the little picture. "Could we get a minute?" I ask softly and Arizona nods before leaving, poor lady, she can never make it through a full appointment with us.
Cordelia stares at the monitor still, not being able to tear her eyes away even after I call her name. "Sweetheart..." I place a hand on her chin and turn her head, she follows the monitor until she can no longer strain her eyes. "Are you ok?" my tone is sweet and patient, knowing she must be a little overwhelmed. "I... I have a baby" she whispers and I nod as I smile, "you do" I affirm. "We're having three babies..." it hits her as it hit me and I chuckle a bit.
"We are" I confirm again, "wow... I can't believe I'm pregnant" she mumbles. I let it sink in and she sighs happily before looking at me again. "I love you" is all she says but it conveys everything I know she wants to say, "I love you too" I reply softly. I head to the door and Arizona is at the counter, I call her name and she turns with a smile as usual. The exam doesn't take much longer and we're soon back in the car on the way home, well back to the academy.
"Thank you for doing this" she says sincerely once we've parked in the driveway, "you don't need to thank me, I told you I'll do anything for you and I meant that. I love doing things for you — when you let me" I tease and she giggles. I'll never get enough of her laugh, or her smile, or her eyes... she's perfect. "Promise not to kill me if we give birth on the same day?" she say nudging me gently, "don't make me lie to you" I state flatly.
After grabbing her purse she looks back at me with a concerned expression and I slowly smile. "I'm kidding but seriously... don't do that — I might die without you there to hold my hand" she pouts and places a gentle kiss on my lips, "don't make me lie to you" she mocks me before chuckling and getting out the car. She laughs all the way to the door and suddenly stops when we get in.
"You peed, didn't you?" I smirk and she looks at me shyly before nodding, "that's what you get. Come on you big baby" I giggle. "Meanie" she whines, "awww it's ok, sweetie. Mommy will get you cleaned up" I say as I usher her up the stairs. "Could you guys not do that while I'm trying to eat" Madison comments which makes us turn to see the girls in the dining room, "oops" I say sarcastically with a shrug.
I get Lia cleaned up and we go about the day until it's time to go to bed. After showering and getting all moisturized and under the covers, we turn towards each other and I trace her collar bones. "Can I ask you something?" she asks timidly, "yes, I would still love you if you were a worm" I say and half her upper lip spikes as her eyebrows crease which makes me laugh. "Go on, sorry" I giggle and she shakes her head before her face returns to normal.
"Did you really think we'd sleep in separate beds?" she asks sadly, it's now I realize she's feeling the same things I was and I know just how to reassure her. "We won't because if we did... how else would I get my daily dose?" I ask as my hand caresses her waist. "Your does of what?" she smirks, "of you" I whisper and lean in to kiss her. "I'll love you even if you turn neon yellow tomorrow" I say, "that's... a lot of love for one person" she grimaces and we both laugh.
"I love you, Delia. For better or for worse, richer or poorer" I smile contently, "til death do us part?" she questions. "Absolutely because there's no other way I'm letting you go" I state dramatically and she smiles dreamily. "Does this mean we're married? I mean since god is always watching they say" she smirks, "I sure hope he's not... both for your sake and mine — his too now that I think about it " I joke and she nudges my arm as she shakes her head, rolling her eyes.
"But yes... if you wanna be my wife so bad then you can" I sigh dramatically, "oh don't make it seem like such work — as if I'm the only one that wants to be married" she chuckles nervously. "I'd love to be your wife. I've thought about since the moment I met you" I whisper, she blushes and buries her face in my neck. "We won't be able to lay like this much longer with our bellies in the way" she whines, "then we better make the most of it" I whisper as I pull her as close as possible.
