The air inside the car felt heavy with anticipation as I settled into the backseat, my nerves prickling with unease. Today marked the day our grade would visit the college, and while part of me was excited to explore new opportunities, another part was consumed by irrational fear. What if I saw Marinette with someone else? The mere thought made my blood boil, but I quickly dismissed it as foolishness. Shut up, Katsuki. You can't possibly like her.

Kanami's arrival disrupted my thoughts, her usual vivacity filling the space with energy. "I'm back! I forgot my lunch!" she exclaimed, her words met with my characteristic sarcasm. "Always fucking eating," I muttered, earning a glare from her in response. Our banter was interrupted by the shrill ring of her phone, and I watched with a mixture of annoyance and curiosity as she answered the call, her excitement palpable.

"Hey, girl!" Kanami's voice crackled through the phone, accompanied by giggles from the other end. My brow furrowed in annoyance as I listened to their conversation, feeling an inexplicable jealousy twist in my gut. What did they have to talk about that was so damn amusing?

As Kanami hung up, she gestured for me to join her in the front seat, her words drawing my attention. "Where's the Bluehead?" I teased, and she scowled in response, resenting my use of that nickname.

"Don't be mean!" She shot back, rubbing the back of my head where she'd slapped me. The mention of Marinette's plans for a ride with some guy named Daichi fueled the fire of my frustration, my fists clenching involuntarily as jealousy surged within me.

"SHUT UP!" I snapped, kicking the glove box in a futile attempt to quell the rising tide of emotions threatening to consume me. Kanami fell silent, the tension in the car palpable as we continued our journey in quiet.

"Calm down, bro," Kanami's voice broke through the turmoil, her gentle touch on my hair a small comfort amidst the storm raging inside me. With a deep breath, I calmed down, reminding myself that Marinette was free to do as she pleased. It was normal for her to be pursued by guys her age, not someone still in high school like me.

As we arrived at Kanami's school, I took solace in the familiar sight of my classmates gathered with Mr. Aizawa. Kanami's reassurance bolstered my spirits, and with a nod of gratitude, we stepped out of the car, ready to face whatever the day had in store.

Marinette's POV:

The car ride with Daichi had started innocently enough, but I grappled with mixed emotions as the conversation took an unexpected turn. Despite Kanami's warnings about Daichi's crush on me, I hadn't anticipated his sudden confession.

"Thank you again for driving me, Daichi," I offered a polite smile, trying to diffuse the tension in the air.

"No problemo," he replied with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

I glanced out the window, feeling a knot form in my stomach as Daichi broached the topic of a potential date. His words hung in the air, heavy with expectation, and I hesitated before responding.

"I...I'm sorry, Daichi," I began, my voice faltering slightly. "I already heard you had a crush on me and I...I don't see you like that, to be honest."

His reaction was immediate, his frustration bubbling to the surface as he demanded an explanation. My anger simmered beneath the surface as I struggled to articulate my feelings.

"Because I just have no feelings for you," I explained, my tone tinged with frustration. "Or do you want to be in a relationship with someone who has zero feelings for you?"

His accusation cut deep, and I bristled at his words. "When did I ever lead you on?" I retorted, my patience wearing thin.

The atmosphere in the car grew increasingly tense, our voices rising in a heated exchange. Daichi's insults stung, his words lashing out with a venom that left me reeling.
