Sometimes.... and I mean recently I was asking myself a lot... how did I end up in this situaiton. First off, I was together with Winter, second off, why is everyone not happy?! Ivonne came back and they should forget about me as the story would go normally but why do I have the feeling that things will not end up like this? Then again, why do I care?! I don't even want to be in this household.
Me: Winter.... can we get this over with quickly?
Winter: Let's make this short, duke.
We were in the waitingroom with some tea and I got some milk. I couldn't even drink a single bit from it since I felt too nervous. It was not that I was worried about them, it was the contrary. I was worried about myself, about my skin and my fur here.
Duke: Alright, I didn't wanted to make this a long conversation. How did you find her and where?
Winter: My cat escapped and lead me to her.
Duke looked at me and I just gulped. Winter didn't lie and he certainly didn't even act any differently. Now that all eyes were on me, I could just let out a mew.
Me: Mew.
Winter: She is a very Intelligent cat.
Duke: What a coincident.
Winter: Anyways back to your question. My cat lead me to the red street and the poor reagion of this city. There I found her volunteering and helping out.
Duke: I see. You must know that we got a lot of people delivering my supposedly daughter and until this is not confirmed, I would like to ask you to wait for the compensation.
Winter: I didn't do this for any compensation.
Duke: Still, I will owe you my grat-
Winter: In that case, then leave Miss Penelope in my care after this.
Duke: Pardon?
Me: HUUUUUUUHHHHH!!!!!
Winter was sipping from his cup of tea as if nothing happened. I was there with my mouth wide open looking at him in disbelieve. What the hell did he just say? He wanted me to be in his care?! Why? I froze, the air in the room tensed up and I could tell that the duke did hear his question but wanted to hear it again. Winter on the other hand didn't move nor make any sign of wanting to repeat it again.
Duke: I.... Do you know where she is?
Me: Of course he knows! I am right here but you wouldn't say that now would you?!
While I was looking at the situation, I suddenly started hissing and a low grow came from me. Winter just smiled while looking at me.
Me: NO! NOOOOO! NAH-AH! Don't you look at me like that!
Winter: The lady had told me to deliver a message.
Duke: How is she? Where is she? Is she alright?
Winter: She is inharmed and quite lively.
Duke: *relieved sigh* What a releave.
Winter: As where she is. I am fraid, I can't tell you.
Duke: And why is that?
Winter: I have a promise with the lady and I tend to keep it.
Duke: Is she with you then?
Me: You can't let this go... why did you even had to mention me?!
Winter: Yes, she is in my care and I promised her to let her see the beauty of this world.
Duke: Please take care of her and tell me if you need anything.
Winter: I will.
Duke: I know she didn't had it easy and I was a fool for not looking at the situation. My blindness made everything worse.... it was only after she ran away that I started to see.... I regret it.
Winter: Please don't worry about her.
Me: Can we leave.
Winter: I quite busy as you know, so I have to apologise but I need to leave.
Duke: Don't worry and thank you for telling me these good news.
We were escorted outside of the home and I was still somewhat mad, but also in disbelieve about how this conversation went. I mean who would have thought that the conversation would turn around from talking about Ivonne and how she lives and her hardship to me?!!! If someone would have told me this, I would have looked at them and called them crazy. In no freaking way would I believe that.
And yet.....
It turned out this way.
Once we got in the carriage which would bring us home, Winter started to speak up to me.
Winter: I don't know what happened in the past but I hope that this could give you some closure to it.
