Bold for Jake Sully's naration
Italics for Na'vi

They rode direhorses along the floating mountains. Small rocks broke underneath them that aided to Jake's anxiety. Ri'lani had told him it would be a hard journey. The journey, she had said, was meant to challenge him before the most challenging part of it, Taming the ikran.

It didn't help that Tsu'tey was there to guide them, he was to help with this part of the journey not Ri'lani. Even though he had been there for around 2-3 months now the guy still hated his guts.

They made it to a small clearing where the others began dismounting their direhorses, Jake followed and tilted his head up towards smaller mountains that were connected to the one he stood on by vines.

Learning to ride an ikran, we call them banshees, is the test every young hunter has to pass.... But to do that, you gotta go where the banshees are...oo-rah

The group began to climb up the smaller rocks that led to another. The mountain that stood in front of Jake was spinning and with it, there were vines to which Jake stood confused

"Now what?" Jake asked turning to Tsu'tey who observed the spinning mountain, Tsu'tey suddenly yelled out as he jumped and grabbed ahold of the vines. He started to climb up, the others following suite

After the climb they all walked across larger vines that connected to there destination, Jake tried his best not to look down. It made it hard as Tsu'tey threw taunts his way

The climbed inside the mountain before reaching there destination, they had made it to the ikran rookery.

Ri'lani who had been flying around the area landed Katir in the opening of the cave, She gave Jake a small smile as he nodded towards her. She turned her attention towards Tsu'tey, "I see you" she spoke to which he motioned it back to her

She soothed Katir as Tsu'tey approached Jake, a smug grin dawning his features, "Jakesully will go first" Jake stepped forward holding his bow out which was promptly snatched by Tsu'tey, Ri'lani followed him turning her head towards Tsu'tey to give him a look.

The pair walked behind the waterfall as they approached the patch where all the ikran were, Ri'lani rested her hand on Jake's chest, "This is where you choose your ikran, this must be felt inside. If they choose you, move quick like I showed. There will be one chance, Jake" she explained

"How will I know if it chooses me?"

Ri'lani sighed, "he will try to kill you"

Jake let a puff of air out, "outstanding"

He began walking forward, swinging his rope around as he approached resting ikrans. Most of them fled as he got closer but there was one that stood unafraid and even approached Jake giving him a roar.

In response Jake hissed at the creature which earned him a hiss back. Jake smirked, "let's dance" he said tilting his head

Jake swung his rope around as Tsu'tey turned to the other hunters, "that moron's going to die".

Ri'lani turned to Tsu'tey with a smirk, "Tsu'tey I recall you falling off the mountain your first time" this earned a couple giggles from the young hunters, giggles that were quickly hushed by Tsu'tey.

Jake swung the rope around the ikrans mouth as it charged towards him he then straddled the neck trying to subdue the ikran, this was futile as the ikran began flapping its wings lifting the both of them off the ground

The ikran lowered itself to the ground enough for Jake to wrap his hands around its mouth, though with his hands tied it became a challenge to grab his braid, "don't be afraid, warrior!" Tsu'tey taunted

Ri'lani getting annoyed with Tsu'tey yelled towards Jake, "Make the bond, Jake!"

Jake freed his hand holding the snout and went to grab the queue only to be met with a headbutt. The ikran bucked Jake off causing him to fall towards the edge of the mountain.

Ri'lani ran forward but kept her distance as she screamed out, "Jake!" While Tsu'tey's taunting laughs filled the area

Determined, Jake climbed back up and approached the animal before he launched himself back onto the ikran, with Ri'lani cheering him he wrapped his legs around the snout as he connected the ikran and his own queue together making Tsaheylu.

He yelled out causing the ikran to seise its attack, he turned around chuckling as he held the snout of the ikran, "that's right, you're mine" he undid the binding on the ikrans mouth causing it to slowly rise.

Ri'lani approached them, "first flight seals the bond. You cannot wait," she began pushing them towards the end, "think: fly!"

"Fly?" He spoke which signaled the ikran to launch itself off the mountain. Jake screamed as his ikran barreled through the sky

Ri'lani watched with a grimace as the pair struggled o a few but after a little while they finally got the hang of it.

She smiled before running to her own ikran, laughing as she heard Tsu'tey silent the hunters who were cheering for Jake.

She mounted Katir who took off into the sky to meet up with Jake. She let out a hoot as she flew beside Jake. She watched him with a proud smile.

I may not be much of a horse guy, but I was born to do this.

The pair stood on the mountain as she spoke motioning with her hands, "I fly like this, this you. I turn, I feel the wind, I turn very strong."

Jake nodded also motioning, "look, yeah I banked so hard"

She smiled again as, she adored riding her ikran and now she could enjoy it with Jake

All the young hunters who had just earned there ikrans flew in a line with Tsu'tey leading. Ri'lani was also there since she was Jake's teacher

Jake turned his head before playfully nudging her ikran with his own. She turned to look at him
Shocked before a playful grin dawned her features she did the same

They both let out giggles before being silenced from a scolding from Tsu'tey, however Ri'lani turned to Jake to give him a playful smile

The pair separated from the group as they flew around, Ri'lani was showing him techniques in how to become an efficient ikran rider

She circled around Jake letting out chirps, to guide Katir, she motioned with her head for him to follow her.

The pair dived down a mountain before they flew across the clearing, below them was the tree of souls.

Ri'lani motioned to it with her hands before bringing it up to her chest, Jake watched curiously.

"That is the tree of souls, it is where we connect with eywa, when you pass your dream walk and become apart of the people. You will be allowed to visit" she explained as she hovered closer to him.

Jake nodded his head before the both of them took off again towards hometree
