chapter 39

Throughout the day you go between checking on your mother and spending time with the boys, also messaging Jugyeong often to update her. You reassure her that Suho is doing fine, and that you're helping him out as much as you can which she's grateful for. Since she has to go to school during the day she's worried, but she appreciates you being there to help.

After going to see the nurse to check on your mothers condition she gives you a box of markers with a grin. You smirk when you realise what they're for, before running to Seojun's room in excitement. She watches you leave with a little smile, glad you're starting to feel a little better. You open the door and the boys look over at you to see the mischievous look on your face. You approach Seojun with the markers hidden behind your back, and when you sit down beside him you pull them out excitedly and reach for his left hand. He laughs at your antics and watches as you doodle on his cast, a stupid grin on your face which he adores. You pout in concentration which he finds cute, and when you're finally finished you look over at Suho with a grin. He laughs and shakes his head at your antics.

Soojin walks in a few hours later, you assume she must've come from school as soon as she heard the news, and you frown a bit in confusion at her outfit. You throw her a quick smile before turning back to continue your conversation with Seojun, laughing at something he was saying before Soojin entered.

"Why did you come alone?" You look at Seojun who has an irritated expression on his face, he must be just as confused as you.
"What?" she asks.
"I mean, aren't you and Jugyeong best friends who always do everything together, why didn't you bring her with you?"

Jugyeong had updated you briefly about the situation, telling you that she had finally mustered the courage to tell Soojin that she and Suho were dating, and that Soojin seemed to be doing fine. But for her to come and visit Suho alone and the way that she's acting confuses you.

"She's working today. Why, were you waiting for her?" You look down awkwardly, feeling uncomfortable with the way the conversation is going.
"Why are you asking me, shouldn't you be asking him?" he says, motioning to Suho.
"Why him? Aren't you the one dating Jugyeong?" She asks, taking a quick glance at you, but you don't notice since you're fidgeting with your fingers out of nervousness. Seojun turns to her with a frustrated sigh.

"I'll go get you guys some water." Everyone turns to you as you stand up, clearing your throat awkwardly as you leave the room quickly. Seojun scoffs at Soojin's behaviour, but she just throws him a smug smile after you walk out. When you return a few minutes later with a new jug of water you're relieved to see that Soojin is gone.

You go back to your mother's room to check on her for a while, having a meal with her and just spending some time together. In that time, Jugyeong comes to visit Suho so Seojun decides to go for a walk. He sees Gowoon while strolling around the hospital, as well as Juyeong, who he threatens a little causing him to run away. He returns to the room after a while to see all of his friends in his room, so he chats to them for a while before realising that Jugyeong is still there, hidden underneath Suho's duvet.

You spend a few hours with your mother, using some of the time that she takes a nap to study as well, before going back to see the boys. When you get there the room is filled, both Seojun's friends and yours here to visit Suho. Chorong is the first to see you at the door, and he runs over to bring you into a hug. You smile back before handing everyone a bunch of snacks which you got from the vending machine before coming to their room.

They ask how your mum is doing and you reassure them that she's doing fine, and they all let out a sigh of relief at the news. You all sit for a while, everyone eating their snacks that you brought. You feed Seojun some of yours since he wasn't able to himself, and everyone sends each other knowing glances.

After a while the way that Suho is acting makes you realise that Jugyeong is still in the room, hidden under Suho's blanket. You look at Seojun nervously, and you can tell from his expression that he seems to know too. When his friends all suggest ordering some food you use the opportunity to usher them out the room, telling them you will take them all to the cafeteria. They all agree luckily, so you and Seojun leave with them. You discreetly throw Suho a quick wink before leaving, and he sends you a grateful smile before getting his own friends to leave too.

That night you decide to stay with your mother, so when you wake up in the morning and check that she's doing okay you head over to see the boys. When you open the door you freeze in place at the sight before you. Suho is feeding Seojun who's sitting beside his bed, the spoon right in front of his mouth which is wide open. The two look like deers caught in headlights, the sight almost comical. You giggle before finally entering the room.

"It's okay Suho, I'll help him," you tell him, motioning for him to eat his food. You help Seojun into bed and take the food from Suho. You ask if he needs anything but he smiles and tells you that he's okay. You turn back to Seojun and help him with his food, which he thanks you for. Secretly, you're actually really glad that this has been a good way for the boys to get closer, the two no longer at each others throats as badly as they were before.
