Irene POV
I inhaled deeply the scent of woods and fresh air. Ah, it's good to be back home. I walked out of the airport with my two bags and looked around to see if Dad and Bells were here. I was starting to lose hope when I saw two large arms waving in the distance. I had to squint my eyes to see Dad and Sue Clearwater waiting for me. I smiled before running towards two of my favourite people.
"Dad! Sue!" I exclaimed as I ran into Dad's arms and hugged him tightly. "Ahh, I missed you."
"I missed you too, Pumpkin," Dad said as he kissed my head before letting me go and letting Sue hug me.
"Hi Sue," I said, hugging her just as tightly. "How are you?"
"Hi Ri, you sure know how to make us miss you," Sue replied. "And I'm good, Ri. It's actually great to have you back."
"Really?" I asked as Dad put my bags into the police car trunk as me and Sue got in. "Why is that?"
"Your sister is dealing with a heartbreak," she replied shortly as Dad got in.
I felt my eyes widen in wonder at the news. Bella? Heartbroken? No that can't be true. She loved that vampire with all her heart and soul, she couldn't be heartbroken.
"Everyone buckled in?" Dad asked as he started his car. Both me and Sue replied with a 'yes' and Dad started driving off home. "So, how was Norway? It must have been amazing for you to spend whole five months there."
"Yes, it was amazing, Dad," I answered sensing jealousy in his tone. "We got to go on a lot of trips and done activities that there wasn't a day we were bored."
"Wow, it does sound amazing," Dad said as he turned right. "Well, I'm just glad you are back home."
"Same here Dad," I whispered. "Same here."
Throughout the rest of ride, me and Sue chatted while Dad drove us home to Forks. Since Sue didn't technically live in Forks but on the Reservation, Dad first drove us there to drop her off. While being there I got to catch up with Leah and Seth Clearwater after being away for so long. We chatted for about twenty minutes before me, and Dad said our 'byes' and left towards home.
"Mira it really is so good to have you back," Dad said as we got closer to home.
"I know Dad," I have heard this so many times now I was starting to get irritated by it.
"I just want to warn you about something before we arrive," Dad sounded worried now. "After you left at the end of August, Bella started to change. It was during your birthday she went to the Cullen's. They hosted a party for her, but she came back home with a bandaged arm."
I squirmed in my seat at his words. Oh crap, something obviously went horribly wrong at that house. "The next day, Bella disappeared. She was found seven hours later in the woods. The Cullen's had left, and Bella broke down. She stayed in her room all the time, she didn't talk, had nightmares every day. She was a mess, and still is."
"So, what do you want me to do?" I asked as we arrived at our house.
Dad parked the car and turned the engine off before looking at me with pleading eyes. "Help Bella."
I felt myself nod before getting out of the car and closing the door behind me. I thought about what Dad said about me helping Bella. Even though she is the older one, she never was responsible enough to take care of herself. She always made everyone worry. Sometimes it was like walking on eggshells.
I took one of my bags as Dad took the heavier one and we walked up the stairs towards our house. I twisted the knob and the door opened to reveal Bella standing there with a smile, alongside Jacob and Billy Black. "Bella!"
I engulfed her into a hug. "I missed you sister."
"I did too," she replied. "We have a lot to talk about."
I looked at her and smiled. "We really do."
