Irene POV
It has been two days since the accident and everything that was left was a little scar on Bella's forehead. It was actually quite easy to cover it up with her hair, now we just had to make sure that her hair was not moving and flying in all sorts of directions.
We were currently at the lunch cafeteria, and I was sitting with my friends; Lily, Nina, Jace and Tyler. We were sitting in our corner when from the corner of my eye I saw Bella heading towards the table with her friends. I felt myself smile when I saw that she was going back to her old roots.
"Seems like your sister is back with the gossiping bitches," Jace said breaking me out of my daze. I looked over and glared at him. "What? We know they gossip about everything so why deny it?"
"You're lucky you're Lily's boyfriend, Jace, or I would have smashed your ugly face into a wall," I growled out threateningly.
A bunch of 'ooh's' and 'burn' came out from the mouths of my friends.
"Damn, who knew the little Swan twin could bark and bite," Tyler laughed causing me to look at him with a sickly sweet smile. I touched his hand gently and rubbed it.
"Want to repeat that, Tyler?" I asked with narrowed eyes.
Tyler quickly shook his head and moved away from me causing everyone else to laugh out loudly, not only drawing attention from other students but also some of the teachers. "Guys stop it!"
The gang quieted down a bit but still smiled.
"So, Ri, any plans for the weekend?" Lily asked as she chew her apple.
"No, why?"
"Me and Nina are going to have a girl's night at my place," she answered. "Want to join?"
I thought about it. A weekend away from home at my friends. Perfect. "I'm in."
"Yes! This is going to be the best girls night out," Nina commented making me chuckle.
I looked over towards Bella and saw her smile at the conversation she was having with her friends.
I wonder what they're talking about.

The weekend came quicker than I expected and soon I was packing some of my things up into my bag. I double checked to make sure I had pads and tampons in case Mother Nature visited early, some movies, pyjamas, and my charger.
I took my bag and headed downstairs when I heard Dad talking to someone. "So, she could have stayed there longer?"
"Yeah," answered a female voice which I immediately recognised. "The trip was supposed to be for a year but because you emailed, she had to came earlier."
I walked into the kitchen and broke into a smile. "Tori!"
Both Tori and Dad looked up and smiled when they saw me. Tori immediately got up from her chair and ran over to hug me, knocking the air out of my lungs. "Oh my gosh I missed you so much, Ri Ri."
"I missed you too," I uttered out before pulling away, taking in her long hair, tan skin, and warm clothes. "So, what brings you to Forks?"
"I actually came to you," she replied. Me? Why would she want to see me? Didn't she have enough of me in Europe?
"Me?"
She hummed in response. "The work that we did was actually sent to a group of scientists and they want to meet our groups specifically because of the results we found."
I looked at her as if she were crazy. "You're joking. Please tell me you're joking."
She shook her head in response. "After you left, we tried to get more results, but unfortunately, a lot of our group got sick, so we came back home before the results were sent off."
Holy shit. I quickly sat down on the chair left and took in every piece of information Tori just shared. "So..what exactly does this mean for us? For our group?"
"Not sure," she replied, "but I do know that some scientists in a University want to meet our group to talk about what we found in Norway."
I nodded my head when something dawned over me. "But all we did was look at the depth of the sea and ice glaziers. What do they exactly want to talk about?"
"Possibly any information about the current sea level," she answered.
Damn, I can't seem to catch a break in science. First the biology trip, then the chemistry competition, then the physics competition and now this. Science seems to be on my side.
"So, what exactly do you want me to do?" I asked after a few minutes of silence.
"Come with me to California where we'll meet with the scientists," she responded. "I have already informed the rest of the team and Matthew. Now they are just awaiting our arrival."
I felt my body tense up. I knew this was a big opportunity but what about Dad and Bella? Bella has only been recently getting better and I don't want her spiralling down again.
I was about to answer when a bag dropped in-front of me with a ticket and passport. I looked up and saw Dad with a smile on his face. "Go. This is a huge deal for you, and you should be there with your team."
"But what about Bella?" I asked.
"She's got Jake, she'll be fine," Dad answered.
Of course, now that Bella is hanging out with Jake, she completely forgot about me. Why is it that whenever I mention something or someone, Bella always to be in the known or be involved. I swear if I even talked about going to a meadow, she would want to come with me.
"Alright, I'll go," I said with a smile after making up my mind.
"Great," Dad replied. "I'll drive you two to the airport."
"Wait. Now?"
"Yes," Tori answered. "I'm not lying when I'm saying everything was a spare minute thing."
I nodded my head in understanding. I followed Tori and Dad out of the house, closing the door and walked to the police car. I looked at the house taking everything in before getting in as Dad put my bags into the trunk.
I quickly sent the girls an apology and turned my phone off.
Another trip here I come.
