Billy feels useless. The only thing she can do is never leave Kathryn's side as she, Cleo, Kie and Pope all stand around the table outside the Château, waiting for the others to get there. Not that they have news, beyond Sarah trying to get Topper to withdraw the charges he pressed.

Kathryn plays her little game well. Hiding her feelings. Billy herself still has no idea what the heck happened with that Sofia girl, and it's starting to scare her. She shouldn't be just, pretending like nothing's bad is going on. She definitely shouldn't be helping anyone but herself.

But she'd decided this was the best way to distract herself, and it was hard to prove her wrong.

"Do you still have that picture you took at Singh's?" Pope asks her. "The one of the painting?"

She hums, taking her phone out. "Sure. Why?"

He takes the phone right out of her hands. Kie frowns at him. "That was rude."

"He could've asked," Kathryn agrees.

Pope simply scrolls through her picture, and she tries not to cringe at the amount of selfies of JJ she has on there. He liked to take her phone when she took too long to wake up, come out of the shower, whenever it was lying around somewhere... Of course, she figures most of those pictures are old, now.

"What are you looking for?" Billy asks softly.

"Something Cleo found, actually." He holds out the letter he told Kathryn over text. "It's a letter Denmark Tanny wrote to his daughter."

Cleo grins. "We found it last night. Family heirlooms and thingums."

She looks cute, fawning over him. He looks oblivious, though, but that's Pope for you. Billy remarks the way Kathryn has to look at something else.

"We think we found a connection to the idol," he says.

"The idol?" Billy repeats.

"Big John and John B stole it from the archives before he went missing," Kathryn quickly sums up. "Bee said in his text that it's supposed to open the way to El Dorado, or some shit like that."
