Calling Josh turned out to be a good idea.
Rosie knew that Silas had warned her not to do something to disappoint him with that phone.. but its not like Josh can hurt him in anyways, neither would he know. After all this marriage sham she would have to get back with the love of her life.
So she would talk to him in secret, she knew Silas was crazy but not enough to bug her phone.... Or was he?
"Why can't you come and see me..? I told you I'm in Italy "
Rosie gave a long shaky breath
" Josh, I can't "
" Can't or You won't?"
Rosie wanted to explain everything to Josh, but the more he knew the more likely he was in danger.
" Does he keep you against your will.. are you confined?"
Rosie's eyes bulged, " no no no... Its just that, if i don't follow what he wants he might harm my family "
Josh was quiet for a while. Rosie just heard some typing sounds
" Are you working?" She asked.
" Yeah.. just finishing up some articles "
He said sipping his coffee
She smiled warmly " my handsome workaholic"
He chuckled " then come see me.."
Rosie sighed. " I promise before you leave I'll see you"
After she hanged up she decided to go have a second lunch.
" Ma'am should we prepare another meal for you"
Rosie looked from her plate about to nod but noticed a small smile on Mary's face.
She smiled back " this is the first joke from you Mary"
Mary turned after smiling again then went on with her chores.
When Rosie was done she didn't know what else to do, maybe she should have gotten more friends to chat up with. She wondered if Maggie remembered her .. or was she still angry at her.
As she was thinking her phone started ringing. It was an unknown caller so she stared at it for a while.
" He..hello ? " She started unsure what yo say next
It was silent for a minute then " Ms Hunter"
Rosie let a breath out she didn't know she was holding.
" Mr Luciano I didn't know you had my number" the minute that was out of her mouth she felt stupid. Of course he had her number, he got her the phone.
" I won't be coming back today. I have something outside the city, you'll have extra security so .. dont worry" the last part was unintended. He had just wanted to say he'll be back tomorrow
Rosie surprised at that " uh.. thanks I guess?"
Silas cursed himself inwardly
" Safe journey" she said softly she genuinely wished it.
Silas was not aware his lips crooked upwards. " Mmh"
" Uhmmm . Can i go out? , I need to get some air... I pro--
" Go "
She gasped " really?"
" Ms Hunter i am busy, i want to hang up" that was a lie. He did not want to hang up.
" Oh .. "
He heard the disappointment in her voice and almost told her it was alright. He would not hang up if she wanted.
" Okay bye " she quickly hanged up
Silas glared at his phone after he heard the beep. He did not even notice Luca come in.
" You alright sir?''
Silas looked up to him " what.. why?"
" You were glaring at your phone " luca stated the obvious
"No" Silas frowned " was I?"
" You were "
Silas sighed. "Why are you here?"
" Its time for Your leave." Luca wanted to ask if his boss was okay. He always had his schedule crammed.
Silas cursed " okay.. get my things.".
Rosie could not believe she was outside with no guard no security it was just her well and her driver . Everything looked beautiful when you are free.
She was glad Josh did not meet her in an open area. She was currently a celebrity like figure. Her face just a day ago was in media houses and newspapers. It was absurd if someone was to ask her, absurd that many people praised how beautiful she was. Absurd that she also liked the fact that she felt beautiful too.
It was a secluded hotel he had told her about. The minute she got in he was waiting for her by the door. He engulfed her in a long hug. She almost cried
She missed this, his warmth, his smell....
him.
He kissed her hair then her forehead .. then looked at her face lovingly
" I missed you, like crazy"
Her eyes welled up. " Me too, you have no idea"
After that, he leaned in to capture her lips with his, and his lips were as she remembered ...
She got lost in his world.
