Lachlan's POV
The large hospital was coming into view through the windshield, and I shifted for the millionth time as Vikk snored lightly and was pressed into my side tightly. Mitch was asleep as well, and so was Preston. Rob drove while humming, and I took in how Preston looked uncomfortable as his cheek pressed to the window as if it had been glued there.
I glanced over at Jerome and saw his eyes searching his phone. I grabbed my own phone to see it was 3:20 pm. I sighed out of relief as Rob pulled into the parking lot and pulled into a close space.
My body was unbearably cold as I shook Vikk awake and then stepped out. We woke everyone up before heading towards the entrance slowly, in favor that I was limping.
The entrance was large with a desk dead center when we walked in. I walked up to the desk and the woman behind it who typed frantically at her computer while the others went to sit down. When she glanced up, her eyes stayed on me and made me feel incredibly awkward.
"I need help, please," I mumbled quietly, and she cocked her head to the side with a light smirk, "What did you do, handsome?"
I trembled at her words before sighing, "I was in a fight." My answer was bland, but she nodded and typed at her keyboard again. "A doctor will be with you shortly," she said simply, and I turned to walk off, but I stopped when she called out something I didn't hear right.
She grabbed a pen and hastily wrote on a paper before handing it over to me. I glanced down to see her number with a winking face behind it and nearly puked. "Vikk?" I called out towards the direction my friends sat, and I watched the boy bound over with a smile even if I knew his wounds hurt.
"Miss, I'm in a relationship already," I smiled, leaning down and kissing Vikk longingly. He was kissing back instantly, and when we pulled away, she had the look of hurt clear across her face before going back to typing on her desktop.
I walked with Vikk back to the set of chairs, ripping up the paper on the way over and throwing it in the trash can near my seat. "What was that?" Mitch asked with an eyebrow raised. "That girl at the reception desk gave me her number," I scoffed, and they laughed amusingly.
"Lachlan Power?" A voice called, and I looked over to the door with a doctor standing in the open doorway. I stood up slowly and gave my friends a warming smile before walking over to the man in white. He glanced at his clipboard as he led me down the hallway and away from my friends.
I was led to a room with a bed and counter, and the man gestured for me to sit on the flat bed that looked as if it could be a seat from a dentist. I did so while aimlessly looking at the containers hung up on the walls and read the signs that used gloves or used needles.
"I'll be back with you shortly," the doctor informed before leaving and closing the door.
I tapped my finger on the paper they covered the bed with that was used as disposable sheets for several minutes before the door was opened and the doctor was stepping back inside. "Okay, what is the problem today?" He asked as he sat down in the chair that had been pushed under the container.
"I got in a fight at school," I mumbled, rubbing awkwardly at the back of my neck. It felt so wrong admitting that I had actually hurt someone, but it was for good reason, right?
The man hummed as he scribbled on his clipboard, "I could tell from your injuries." The doctor stood up and walked closer, prodding at painful wounds and accessing the ones he thought would be an issue.
"I think there isn't anything too serious, but we will need to disinfect them to ensure no infections," the doctor informed, and I nodded.
Quickly, I was cleaned up and given antibiotics for my wounds to help fight any infections that could possibly start. He gave me a slip for school that would dismiss me from school for two days before saying a goodbye and waving as I walked out and back to the waiting room.
I was greeted by Vikk with a bright smile and warming hug. I hugged back, even though his contact was hurting my sides and back. I would always push through it for him. I didn't want him to worry.

I yawned loudly as stumbled to my kitchen and poured myself a glass of water. I took slow sips that ran down my dry throat. I was slightly off, having not been given a kiss from Vikk when I was dropped off, but I pushed it off and continued to be thankful I didn't have any internal problems.
My stomach began to growl, but I pushed it aside with the thought of only having ate a small fry in the last few days so that I didn't raise suspicions.
I lounged back on my couch with a heavy sigh, staring up at the ceiling. It was quiet and peaceful until my phone began to violently ring and vibrate.
"Hello?" I answered, hearing a snort and a sound of hatred. "Yes, this is the guy's friend who you beat. He's in the hospital with broken bones," the man sounded cold and fuming. "We made up," I mumbled, feeling confused as to why this person was acting like this. "Yeah, but we want to see what male he was trying to win over. Vikk, was it? He must be something if my friend was beat because of."
I swallowed thickly as he continued to speak, "Would be a shame if Vikk left you, wouldn't it?"
I ended the call and screamed out, "What do I do?" I jumped up despite the increasing throb of my body and paced the living room with my fingers working at rubbing my temples. I texted the others what I was told and to protect Vikk as much as possible.
After sending the message of desperation to Rob, Preston and Mitch, I threw the mobile across the room and backed up against the nearest wall. I looked up at the wall and carefully slid down to sit on the ground.
If the group failed to protect Vikk, I could lose him. Either Vikk would protect himself, or the group would help save him.
Either way I knew that I didn't know what I would do without him.
