Mitch's POV

Rob, Jerome, Preston, and I left Vikk back at Lachlan's house, finding it disgusting that he suddenly cares about Lachlan.

We pulled into the hospital parking lot and took a space, rushing inside and immediately seeing Brandon pacing around the entrance. His eyes met ours, and he ran over to us, "He's alive and awake. We can visit him, but I refused to go back there until you were all here." We nodded and followed the boy as he led us down the corridors to a door labelled 143.

We took the moment to breathe before stepping inside, and there Lachlan sat with his fingers rubbing at his hair. I smiled softly as I walked to him and immediately hugged the boy, "I'm so glad you lived and are okay." Lachlan hugged back with a weak laugh. When I pulled back, Rob was quick to take my spot, "We love you, dude. We are nothing without our leader." Lachlan tensed at the name, eyes flashing with so many mixed emotions.

Leader

Lachlan's POV

"Are you even sure you want me as the leader?" I gushed with wide eyes, and I looked to all of them as they nodded and grinned. With a weak smile, I placed my hand over my heart and pretended to cry, "I'm honored."

When the laughter died down, we settled down into a comfortable silence until Mitch spoke up,"Vikk is pretty messed up." I swallowed thickly and looked out the window with my body sinking down, "I don't want to see him."

Three weeks had ticked past, and finally I was deemed safe to leave this damn hospital. Over the time period, I had been talked to by a therapist and counselled for my actions, but it's not like it helped me. If anything were to fix me, it would be myself.

I walked out after signing the paper that I needed, mumbling goodbyes.

The scars beneath my sleeves remained pale white and scarred over, but never would they be gone. Forever would they be there as signs of what I had done to myself, and the scars made me who I was.

Walking out of the building and over to Preston's car, I found him leaning against it with his face feigning that of a gangster and his arms crossed, "Hey, dog. You ready, G?" I muffled my laughs with my hand as I nodded, quickly losing that happiness as a thought of Vikk crossed me mind and ruined the joy.

Not letting it get the best of me, I pushed it back like I always would and looked over at Preston. "I'm just kidding, bro. Ready to leave?" He asked with his voice back to normal, and I nodded.

We were heading to the school for me to work on some needed papers since graduation was coming quickly. Most of the work I was not there for was excused and not needed to be done, but there were a few papers needing to be filled out.

As we pulled into the school parking lot, I got a breath of fresh air and smiled faintly. It was insane to admit, but I kind of missed being here. School always kept me busy when my mind would drift away.

Rob walked up and waved a greeting before gesturing me along with a smile. Preston followed, and soon we were stepping through the front doors. The moment people saw me, they stopped and cheered.

"Was this really necessary?" I whispered over to the two, and they both chuckled with unknowing eyes, "We didn't plan this, bro. The students did."

My smile became bigger as we kept on walking to our hallway and headed towards our lockers to get our stuff.

Suddenly the bell rung, but Rob was quick to pat my shoulder, "We're excused, dude. Take your time."

I opted to just grabbing a pencil and left to walk with Rob and Preston to our science class, pushing open the door and slipping inside. Mrs. Marshall smiled warmly at us, "Please sit down, boys. Today's a free day, and I'm glad you're well, Lachlan." I sent a warm smile to her and then walked behind Rob and Preston to the back of the class that reminded my mind of so many memories.

Mitch high fived me, Brandon fist bumped me, and Jerome playfully punched at my shoulder. I laughed, but then it died when a member seemed missing. I looked around for a minute before looking at Mitch. He sighed, "You're wondering where Vikk is, aren't you?" I nodded, and he took a moment to scan my face. "Well, he's moving. He feels guilty for what happened, so he thinks moving will help make you happy again," Mitch informed, and it was like my heart shattered on spot.

"He's at home packing right now," Preston added, and I frantically jumped up from my seat to run out of the class and through the front doors of school. I hadn't none the others were right behind me, or that they had piled into Preston's car until he was roaring the engine at me as he pulled up to my running frame.

"Hop in," Preston grinned as he rolled the window down, and I didn't waste any time to climb inside, seeing everyone packed into the back seat that was only meant for three people, but held four at the moment.

Preston drove fast, taking turns sharply before skidding to a stop in front of a tall brick house. "Get your man back, lover boy," Rob teased, and I smiled over to him. "Oh, don't forget this!" Brandon called as I opened the door, and he held out a black box.

My eyes widened, and I stared up at him with flustered cheeks. He just shoved it over and patted my shoulders, "Go get him."

I smiled and ran out of the car and up the sidewalk to the front porch. I didn't knock as I just rather walked in and closed the door behind me. "Who is it?" A British accent called, and I smiled at how much I missed hearing it.

"Hello?" Vikk asked again, peaking out from the kitchen and immediately starting to cry as he stepped out fully.

I hid the box in my hoodie pocket as I ran to him, engulfing him into a tight hug and holding him close as he cried into my chest. "Vikk, I need to ask you something," I whispered, and he pulled away and sniffled. He had fearful eyes, but I reassured him with a gentle smile.

"I have spent a while thinking, and yes, we have been through a lot. I just can't really imagine a world without you anymore, Vikk, and I need you in my life until the day I take my last, dying breath," I breathed, bending down on one knee and pulling the box out while opening it to expose the diamond studded ring. "Vikkram Barns, will you marry me?"

I saw the tears flood his cheeks and his eyes cloud with happiness as he whispered, "Yes!" I stood up, slipping the ring on his finger and then hugging him tightly. I pulled apart and leaned down to smash our lips together, basking in the feeling of peace and safety. It had been a while since we last kissed, and every minute that our lips moved in sync was like heaven.

I pulled away, breathing deeply and hugging him a last time before intertwining our fingers and walking us outside. I held our hands up, the ring sparkling under the sun, and the guys all jumped out while cheering loudly.

We merged into a group hug, having the air squeezed from my lungs, but I couldn't love them any less, and soon we pulled apart. "I'm so glad for you two!" Preston chirped, and I smiled.

Because yeah, so was I.
