Violet felt like she was turning over every stone on the globe. Yet, another two years went by and Violet was no closer to finding Jakob than she had been for the past seven years. Violet felt at a crossroads at this point – but there was one thing she couldn't do. She couldn't go home.
Violet had to quickly pick up her life every time she got settled into a new place. The feds knew her name, and they were pointing all their feelers out for anyone associated with Dominic Toretto. The last Violet heard about her brother was that he was on the run, alongside Mia this time. Apparently, Violet missed out on what happened in California, and Dom's escape out of federal prison's custody. Violet was happy to hear that she missed out on the fun but knowing that the feds were looking for anyone associated to Dom, Violet couldn't stick in one place for a long time like she could in Lima.
Coming to Jamaica was the last place that Violet picked to look for Jakob. It was becoming tiresome how empty she was coming up. Not a single sign of her brother, and she was getting annoyed at the lack of information. Violet truly didn't know what to do anything.
Sitting in front of a computer in a café, Violet was typing in all the names that Jakob pretended to be over the years. Her searches were less than thrilling. Violet wanted to punch something, wishing she had other ideas to how to locate her brother. But after eleven years, Violet guessed that Jakob hid himself extremely well and didn't want anyone to find him.
Violet's fingers hesitated over the keys before typing in her own name. She didn't know what was being said about her or what it looked like to be an associate of Dominic Toretto. Violet didn't know what to expect – however, seeing the wanted poster with a price on her head gave her enough information to know how serious it was that Dom escaped federal custody.
Violet could have kept her nose clean if she hadn't gone back to the states, but she had to see Letty's gravesite for herself. She wanted to make sure that Leon was telling the truth. Her passport was flagged when she entered the US back in '09, but fleeing as soon as she entered, using a fake one, she got a head start before Dom was even broken out of that bus.
Violet closed the internet browser, sighing heavily.
She still had about thirty minutes left on the computer before she had to give it up for another customer.
Violet wasn't sure what to do from here. She knew that the search from Jakob was pointless – seven years of active searching and coming up empty was enough for her to say that Jakob was hiding well and didn't even want his baby sister to find him. But if she did end the search for Jakob, what was she supposed to do?
Violet could just keep jumping from country to country, but with what money? Her bank account in LA was frozen, she was working on cash she got from odd jobs, fixing up cars for the locals, and racing on the side. The Jamaican racing scene was sick, Violet loved experiencing it, but at the same time, she couldn't stay in one place for too long these days. She had no idea where Dom was currently, and she didn't know if the feds were getting close.
