Hobbs sent Levi North alone.
When Hobbs got the email from Mr. Nobody, Levi was the only person he knew could do the job. Hobbs was laying off on some intense missions, so he was tagging Levi in. Levi definitely felt weird about it, but taking lead on a mission like this was something he always wanted to do. After following around Violet from country to country, attempting to find out what happened to Mr. Nobody would be simple.
Levi sat in the back of the SUV with Ramsey. Tej and Roman were in the front, driving down the long path to Dom and Letty's new home. Levi had no idea where they were currently living after everything happened with Cipher. Apparently, they told the team and no one else.
Levi wasn't insulted. He understood that Toretto wasn't interested in having DSS or any government agency stopping on his doorstep. Levi was just surprised that Mr. Nobody sent that email to the other three as well.
"Find anything?" Levi asked, leaning towards Ramsey.
"No." Ramsey sighed. "The code is more complicated than I thought it would be." Ramsey commented.
Tej scoffed. "This is Mr. Nobody we're talkin' about, Rams, you really thought he'd give you the answers?" Tej asked.
Ramsey rolled her eyes. "There are codes upon codes, I'm just trying to figure out what codes are the real ones and what we need to know." Ramsey said.
While Levi was a tech guy, what Tej and Ramsey did was more than Levi could keep up. He sat back against the seat, crossing his legs. Something didn't make sense with this entire mission. In the years they knew Mr. Nobody, he didn't seem like the type to get caught like that. But also, what did Mr. Nobody mean by "still alive"?
"Okay, who do you think is still alive?" Levi asked, leaning his arm against Tej's seat. "It's gotta be someone from your past. Who's somebody who we thought was dead after all these years?" Levi asked.
"Gisele?" Roman asked. "She's the only one we never did confirm."
Levi fell silent.
"Han was the only person to see her fall, so it's possible." Tej shrugged. "But would Gisele and Mr. Nobody ever run into each other?" Tej asked.
"Who knows, man, he's a spy, she was formerly cartel. Do you think Mr. Nobody was dabblin' in drugs?" Roman asked.
Tej rolled his eyes. "Come on, man."
"What, you are the one who suggested that Gisele's fuckin' alive."
"Who else is dead?" Ramsey asked.
"Besides Han and Vi, there are plenty of people who are dead from crossin' our paths." Tej stated. "Unless he's talkin' 'bout somebody from Dom's past. Then... I don't know." Tej shrugged.
