After Ella and Esteé left, Dallas pulled his brother aside. He eyed him, "Ella of all people?"
Griff held his hands up, "I didn't know it was going to be Ella, Dallas."
"I didn't want to see her again. Especially gazing at you." He hung his head.
"I assume now isn't the best time to talk to you about Ella." Griff rubbed his neck nervously.
Dallas met his brother's hazel eyes. He nods, "Shoot."
"I was wondering if I could date her."
Dallas was not expecting to hear that. He rubbed his stubble jaw pondering. He had Liz but knew he shouldn't care who Ella dated. He felt as if his heart was being squeezed, " I don't care."
He was going to despise seeing them together but he would be busy. He felt eyes boring into him. He turned, "What?"
"You sure Dal?"
"Yes, Griff, it's fine with me."
There was a knock on the door. Both men turned their gazes to it. Dallas checks the time. "It's midnight. Who the hell could that be?" He answered the door to find an intoxicated girlfriend. "Liz, what are you doing here at this time of night?"
Her eyes were darker than usual and she stumbled into his arms. Her silver heels clanked against his tile floor. Liz offered a crooked smile, "I missed you, Dally. Can we talk?" She sheepishly grins adjusting her silky blue dress.
Her breath reeked of tequila and wine. "Sure, let's just get you to sit down."
"Okay," she said with a slur.
She plopped down onto Dallas's sofa and looked him in the eye. "This shouldn't take too long."
"Wait, Liz, you didn't drive here did you?"
"Pfft." she says with the lazy swing of her hand, "my brother brought me."
Dallas breathed a relieved sigh knowing Grant had brought her. His eyes snapped to her, "I thought you and Grant weren't on good terms?"
Liz's brown eyes had grown wide, "well we are fine now. Anyways we're done Dallas. I don't need you anymore. It'll look better if we are both single."
Dallas stared at the ground. Ouch. He nods, "This is an impulsive decision you have made, Elizabeth, without consulting me."
"It's a great one babe."
"Don't you 'babe' me Liz. You do realize you are drunk right?"
She stared at him blankly.
"Elizabeth, this is an irrational decision." He met her brown eyes.
"I couldn't do this if I was sober, Dally. This is what is best for both of us." She said sticking her bottom red lip out.
"Are you sure you want to make this foolish choice, Elizabeth?"
"Positive," she stated, tossing her brown hair over her shoulder.
"Okay," he replied, helping her up.
Liz swatted his hand away, "You're supposed to not let me walk away, Dallas."
He shrugged, "You're making a choice and you're not in your right mind, Elizabeth."
"I don't care, sober me wanted this as well." She took his hand.
She stumbled out the door and into her white Lexus. Dallas tried to see the man driving through the window. It was too dark to tell. "I'm going to have to change the gate password."
