We stood outside on the porch as I stood in front of them.

I was quiet before bowing.

"Thank you for saving me! I know a 'thank you' is not much, but if you'll let me, I'll make it up to you."

"M. You don't need to thank us. We'll always go looking for you because you would do the same. You're my best friend. I can't lose you." O said as she started to tear and I went to hug her.

She let go and wiped her tears.

"Don't worry about it, Mai. There is no need to thank us or make it up to us. Just try not to get kidnapped again and we'll be okay." Kirishima said. We all let out a little laugh.

"Yeah, listen to them. I know we don't hang out very much, but I know you well enough to know you would have done the same for us if you could." Tsu said.

"Thank you. This means a lot to me."

I gave them each a hug before they headed back into the building.

Now it was just Zuku and I.

I walked past him to the steps and sat on one. I patted the ground next to me and Zuku sat down.

"So, why'd you guys get back so late?"

"Oh, well, we had to sign some paperwork at the police and our work studies."

"Oh, that makes sense."

We sat in silence before I spoke.

"I'm sorry about Nighteye. I know it's hard to lose someone, even if you didn't know them that well."

"Yeah, it sucks. And Mirio lost his quirk and his mentor. I can't imagine what he's feeling."

Silence grew over us again but I broke it, again.

"I actually wanted to talk to you about something else."

"What?"

"So, um, do you remember that cloud of purple smoke that covered Overhaul during your fight?"

"Yeah. I wonder who did that because they definitely saved me."

"It was me. I did that."

"What? But how? You don't have anything like that. You should have the elements."

"I know! Toki said the same thing."

"You told Todoroki about this?"

"Yeah, sorry. I just had to tell someone. And you weren't here."

"What about Mr. Aizawa? What did he say?"

"I kinda haven't told him yet."

"Mai."

"I know, I know. But... What if there's something wrong with me?"
