Izuku and I were walking down the hall in silence, until he broke it.
"So... You and Shinso. You two seem to be close."
"Izuku, don't tell me you're jealous?" I joked.
"What?! N-no! I'm not jealous! My stomach just felt weird when I saw you and him so close."
"That's jealousy."
"Oh. I've never experienced it like this."
"That makes sense. Anyway, you don't have to be jealous of Shinso. He's a brother to me."
"Really?"
"Yeah. You're still my number one. Actually, make that number two."
"Two?!"
"Yeah, Shadow always comes first."
"Okay, yeah, I understand that."
"You're so cute, Izuku."
"Why are you calling me that?"
"Because it's your name?"
"But I don't want you to call me that. What happened to Zuku?"
"Well, I gave Shoto a new nickname. I have one for you, but I'm not sure if you'll like it." I shrugged.
"What is it?"
"It's not exactly your name. More like a pet name."
"Pet name? Like, baby?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, what's mine?"
"I think I'll just stick to Zuku."
"No, I want a new one!" He whined.
"You really want to know?"
"Yes!"
"It's...love. But I'm going to call you Zu instead of saying 'love' when talking to people."
"Love? I like it! Also, that makes sense."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It's cute. But now, I need one for you."
"Oh, you don't have to."
"I want to. It's not fair you get to call me something other than my name and I can't do the same to you."
"Okay. What are you thinking?"
"Hmm. This is my first time so you'll have to give me a minute."
"Sure. How about you find one and tell me after the training?"
"Got it!"
"You're so cute, love."
I could tell he loved the name because he blushed, but looked into my eyes with a smile and grabbed my hand.
