"I am coming for dance and baking lessons. Baby for our anniversary, we are doing a big celebration with a step and Fifi will be part of the bridal group."Dimpho says.
Lungi scoffs getting up to get a drink from the cooler.
"I can't dance, Kea is good at this, maybe Gugu can also help and for bridal party thanks but Hai, I don't like it, I got a dress from Karabo's wedding and I am still waiting for an event to wear it."
"What colour is it, I mean you wont have to buy a new one."Dimpho.
"I will send you the pictures,
Lerumo holds my hand while our friends chat. from behind and we dance slowly, I can't get over his hands.
"The stranger with the beautiful hands." I whisper and he laughs.
"so next week is the actual celebration?" Dimpho.
"Blondie, yes." Lungi rolls her eyes.
"Love I also want us to have a 2 weekend celebration." Dimpho says to Nkanyiso who chokes on his drink.
"When you work Gogo, you can have a week long celebration besides what are you celebrating? a cheating husband or the new baby?" Lungi says.
"What baby?" Dimpho.
"Kayise, Lungi come let's go get food." I quickly stand up and take Lungi's hand.
"Don't run what new baby?" Dimpho pulls Lungi's arm.
"Ask your man, I didn't make the baby." Lungi slurs.
I give her a glass of ice water while looking for a tray to dish the meat. "I'm not drunk you know, she needs to know that Nkanyiso is nothing to celebrate. She was here gossiping about you having a child as if her husband does not have 3 outside."Lungi.
"3? Lungi you said 3 I only know of 1." Dimpho cries, a very ugly cry.
"What's going on here?" Aunt Mags.
No one dares to answer her, she asks again in a firmer tone. "Do you also know?" Dimpho asks aunt Mags.
"Know what?" Aunt Mags asks with a frown.
"Nkanyiso has kids." Dimpho hiccups.
"What stupid question is that. Dimpho are you drunk?" Aunty asks.
"So you also know, all of you here know and you watch me be a fool everyday." Dimpho. Mrs and Mr Mags enter followed by Nkanyiso who tries to calm Dimpho down but she slaps him and runs to the bathroom.
"Why did you tell her? Look what you did Lungile."Nkanyiso.
"Wagafa wena did I tell you not to use condoms, what fool impregnates a woman twice." Lungi.
"You stup..."Nkanyiso.
"Try that, try that with my wife and you will see, I have been waiting for this, go ahead." Thapelo says in a cold tone.
Dimpho rushed towards screaming, there's commotion, Lerumo pulls me behind him only then do I see that Nkanyiso is on the floor bleeding, Mr Magagula is restraining a hysterical Dimpho.
Mrs Magagula is holding a dishcloth over Nkanyiso's stomach. I take the car keys and bring the car to the front, Lerumo and Thapelo carry Nkanyiso to the car and I drive, Mrs Mags in the back Thapelo with me in the passenger seat. Everything is happening so fast when we arrive at the emergency room.
"His going to be fine." Lerumo says as soon as Nkanyiso is taken inside, we are sitting outside the Er. He is giving me a hug.
"That man looks like your baby daddy Jama." A voice says behind us.
"Shhh, that is his family, the wife could be here. Go find out what happened I will be in." the one in a white dress says but she quickly keeps quiet when she sees Lerumo and I next to her. She hurriedly walks through the Blue doors and the friend pushes a trolley with sheets opposite us.
"Mama, I think you should go home and rest. I will keep you updated." Lerumo says.
"I can't leave, his also my baby." Mrs Mags.
"I understand mama, but you need to rest, Lesedi is probably looking for you. With Lerumo not there." Mrs Mags nods her head and leaves with her husband, I am left with Lungi, Thapelo, Lerumo, Lewatle, Kayise and her husband.
"This feels like déjà vu." I see looking at Lerumo's bloody shirt.
"I am sorry for the trigger." Lerumo says remorsefully.
"It's not your fault." The nurse with the white uniform walks past us looking down, I follow her with Lungi.
"Excuse me." I call out and she turns, we are near a water dispenser.
"I'm Refilwe, I heard you and your friend talk."
"I'm sorry, I will leave."she says.
"I'm not the wife, I wanted to know how you are feeling and if the kids met their grandparents."
"I don't want trouble. I told Nkanysio a long time ago that I will look after the kids, all he has to do is show up for father and daughter at school." She says.
"What is your name?" Lungi asks.
"If I tell you will you leave me alone, I swear I don't want problems." She looks behind her with wide eyes.
"What's going on here?" Lewatle.
"I.. Ugm.. Nothing." The nurse says.
"Give me your number and I will call you tomorrow." I say to her.
"What do you want her for?" Lewatle.
"Can you book a pap smear?" I ask annoyed.
"Eish what is that, Shap let me leave." Lewatle.
"Waphapha wena."Lungi says.
"My name is Katlego, as I said I don't want trouble. " she hands me back my phone.
"Refilwe, Lerumo's wife and this is Lungi Thapelo's wife, we only want the kids to know our kids and their uncles, nothing hectic."
"If your husband had kids would you like it if that happened?"
"Katlego, if he survives cheating, I would want the kids to be welcomed home and maybe work on visiting." Lungi.
"I don't know honestly, but kids are innocent, I'd be angry at first but they are siblings for life."I say.
"I need to get back to work, I will ask the doctor for any news."Katlego walks through the glass doors.
"You know Dimpho will hate us right. " Lungi.
"Nkanysio broke his vows and not the kids, I will speak to Mrs Mags about the meeting first though."
"Are you okay." Lerumo asks after I hand him a cup of coffee.
"Yes, any news?"
"They managed to stop the bleeding but he needs a blood transfusion and I can't donate because of my medication. Lewatle is being tested." Lerumo, I hadn't even noticed that Lewatle was missing.
