The room was alive with the sound of laughter and chatter as Karlee slipped into a shimmering bust cut silver dress. The dress hugging her curves in all the right places, and it stopped mid-thigh.

"You look stunning, Kar," Sara exclaimed.

Karlee grinned at her reflection, feeling a surge of confidence wash over her. "Thanks, Sara," she replied, her heart fluttering with anticipation for the night ahead.

Charlotte nodded in agreement, she was wearing a black dress with stars and tassels on it while Sara was dressed in leather pants and an emerald, green silk crop top. "You both look absolutely breathtaking," she said with a smile.

The three of them set to work putting the finishing touches on their looks. As they applied the final touches of lipstick and smoothed down stray hairs, Karlee couldn't help but feel greatful for these two women. They were more than just friends—they were like her sisters, filling the absence of her own sister. It was so strange not having Marcy with them but at least she was spending time with someone and not sulking in her room.

"Ready?" Sara asked.

With one last look in the mirror, Karlee nodded, "ready."

As they made their way to the grand ballroom of the country club, where the party was being held Karlee couldn't help but feel excited to see Arthur. Maybe she could use the countdown to New Years as a way to tell him how she feels about him.

The ballroom was adorned with shimmering decorations that reflected the theme of the evening—celebration and renewal. Cascading strings of twinkling fairy lights hung from the ceiling, casting a soft, ethereal glow over the room, and creating a magical ambiance.

Tall, glittering centerpieces adorned each table, bursting with an array of lush flowers in shades of white, silver, and gold. Crystal vases sparkled in the candlelight, adding a touch of opulence to the elegant setting.

At the front of the room, was the DJ stage set up. A glittering backdrop adorned with oversized numbers "2022" served as a focal point.

Throughout the ballroom, luxurious velvet drapes in silver and gold framed the windows. Balloon bouquets in metallic gold and silver floated gracefully above the dance floor, ready to be released at the stroke of midnight in a shower of shimmering confetti.

When Karlee stepped in with Sara and Charlotte looking for the guys, they were greeted with glasses of champagne.

"Do you see them?" Sara asked.

"They should... oh wait, there they are," Charlotte said pointing towards the Leclerc brothers, Pierre his girlfriend Kat and Rio.

Karlee's heart skipped a beat as she caught sight of Arthur across the crowded ballroom. Her breath caught in her throat as she watched him weave through the sea of revelers, his smile radiant and his eyes alight with excitement. He was dressed in a white button down and black trousers. He was making his way over to her.
