MARCH 2027(present)

Karlee stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the delicate fabric of her dress. The soft, elegant gown hugged her figure perfectly, her hair was styled into loose, cascading waves. She applied the finishing touches to her makeup, adding a subtle shimmer to her eyelids and a swipe of her favorite lipstick.

Arthur appeared in the doorway, already dressed in a sharp, tailored suit. "Ma belle épouse., Ke," he said, a warm smile spreading across his face.

Karlee turned to him, returning the smile. "Merci, Tortue. Mon beau mari."

He chuckled, stepping closer and wrapping his arms around her waist. "Are you ready? You know as family we have to be on our best host behavior."

Karlee nodded. "I am. I'm so happy for Juls to finally get what she has always wanted. It's going to be beautiful."

Arthur pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Took them long enough to give her what she wanted. Shall we go?"

Karlee took one last look and nodded. "Yes, let's go."

The venue was for the dinner was a luxurious ballroom at the Carlatta Mansion in Italy. As Karlee stepped into the ballroom, she was immediately struck by the opulence and elegance of the space it looked so much better now all done up. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings; the walls were adorned flower garlands that were in the colours of rehearsal dinners theme.

The long dining tables were covered in white linens, each place setting meticulously arranged with fine polished silverware. Tall, elegant floral arrangements featuring lilies, and eucalyptus graced the center of each table, adding a touch of natural beauty to the decor. Soft music played in the background, setting a serene and joyful atmosphere. Each place marked with a handwritten name card. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses. The scent of fresh flowers mingled with the subtle aroma of the evening's gourmet meal.

"They really went all out." Arthur whispered in her ear, his hand resting on the small of her back.

Karlee nodded, her eyes scanning the room. "It's perfect," she agreed.

They made their way to their table, where Karlee's nieces and nephews were already seated. Nolan was full of energy, trying to stack the napkin rolls into a tower, much to the amusement of his four-year-old brother, Torian. Mia was perched on a booster seat, swinging her legs, and babbling happily to herself.

Karlee leaned down to kiss each of them on the top of the head. "How are my favorite little beans doing?" she asked, smiling.

Nolan looked up, grinning. "We're good, Aunt Karlee! Look, I made a tower!"

"That's very impressive, Nolan," Karlee said, ruffling his hair. "But we've got to be on our best behavior, okay?"

Karlee settled into her chair, keeping an eye on the kids as Max and Marcy made their way over.

"Hello, are they behaving?" Max asked.

Karlee chuckled. "So far, so good. They're excited to be here, but I think the food will help keep them occupied."

Marcy nodded, smiling at Mia, who instinctively reached out for her mother. Karlee watched as Mia happily clung to Marcy, her tiny arms wrapping around her mother's neck. It was moments like these that made all the chaos worthwhile. She settled back in her chair, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. Arthur was deep in conversation with Max.

Karlee glanced around the room. The chatter in the ballroom grew louder as more family and friends arrived, filling the space with warmth and excitement. The soft hum of conversations and laughter intertwined with the gentle strains of the string quartet playing in the corner.

Karlee watched as Juliette moved between the tables with a bright smile on her face. She was the picture of happiness. After all the waiting and hoping, she knew Juliette was happy.

As the first course was being served, Karlee leaned back in her chair, taking in the sight of her family and friends. Arthur reached for her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Are you okay, bébé?"

"Everything is perfect," she whispered. "Juls looks so happy."

Across the room, Charles and Valentine were greeting guests, their smiles radiant as they held hands.

"Keke, Thurthur, did you like my dress?" she asked, her voice bubbling with excitement.

Karlee smiled warmly. "I did. You all look so belle."

"I am happy. I've waited so long for this. Now everything is perfect." Juliette smiled pulling Karlee into a hug.

Arthur reached over, rubbing her arm in comfort "And it's only going to get better, kiddo."

As the main course was served, the room settled into a comfortable rhythm. Toasts were made, glasses clinked, and stories were shared.

As the evening progressed, Karlee found herself lost in the joy and celebration around her and the love and happiness in the room. She glanced at Arthur, her heart swelling with gratitude and love for the man by her side.

A toast "to family" was called out.

In that moment, surrounded by laughter, love, and the people who mattered most, Karlee knew that this was just the beginning of many more beautiful moments to come.
